    He must be 'cos...

    Fabregas 11(0) 6 goals 5 assists

    Cole 5(3) 1 goal 6 assists

Most assists in the Prem yet alot of WHU fans were moaning about him.

Why do we have such issues with big strikers over here ?

    Drogba

    Crouch

    Heskey

    Adebayor

Mind you its not just us - the Eyeties don't use Iaquinta enough (great assist in the Derby of Italy ok )

Cole is a joke, he only scored 2 goals at the Bridge in his entire Chelsea career. Not very good for an out and out striker.

I've always liked him...I think the fact my name is Carlton Cole says as much Laughing.

Where I sit at Upton Park is the most vocal, and I've found myself getting in arguments with people around me who have slagged him off.

I think they are finally taking to him now...

To be quite honest though Pierre...he was unfit last season, and didn't take the chances he was given (looked lazy and uninterested).

He also scored the winner in the League cup Smile.

good # of assists. it's his goals scored that tends to be the problem, he should be a lot more prolific than he is and that's what's held him back through his career. he has a tendancy to miss golden opportunities

Because generally people like their players to have flair and skill, not players whose main quality is being able to hold off other players. If football was just full of strong players gaining an advantage because of size and strength, then we all may as well watch American football. The "big man" is only appreciated a lot in the Premiership, not so much in other leagues.

Carlton Cole may have loads of assists due to his "big man" abilities, but what's the point of being a striker if he can't hit a barn door, etc.

Cole is an ok back up striker for a team like west ham. This idea that he is great now he's had a few good games is ridiculous. I remember you spouting the same Cr@p about amoebi. Should have been in the England team and all sorts Rolling Eyes

I attribute Carlton Cole's recent good form to the arrival of Solano. Nobby is one of them players who make everyone around him better due to his distribution of the ball, and sheer understanding of the game.

Almost every CCole's assist was created by Solano. Ñol has given him pinpoint accurate passes just leaving CCole to decide who to make famous. Just like yesterday, CCole gave the ball to Bowyer to blow it in goal. Solano was the catalyst of it all though.

Look what a team with Nobby does to Derby, and look what his old club Newcastle did at Derby. All in all, CCole has shown class. <Ale>

Well part of the reason why I've listed these strikers is I think that, despite popular opinion, they do have skill.

Drogba has some decent tricks on him and a very good touch, Heskey has good control, Crouch has a delicate touch and Adebayor is very skillfull.

Have you seen Cole's assists? - he got a couple v 'boro due to good vision and perfectly weighted defence-splitting passes and his 2nd yesterday was perfectly placed and weighted so its not all down to "big man abilities".

Er... it was slightly tongue in cheek.

I was just saying because everyone knows that Cesc Fabregas is the greatest prospect the football world has ever seen and people often cite his number of assists as evidence of this.
