Arsene – Good idea but wrong season.

In any other season Arsene could have introduced his reserve players, like he did yesterday, and they could have lost the match and still be comfortable with the result. But he chose the wrong season, and someone is gonna pay the price as a result, but I don’t think it will be Arsenal.

I think Sevilla will win the group, meaning Arsenal will face Inter, Barca, Porto or Milan. Arsenal fans might be scared but if I was Barca, Porto or Milan coaches I would surrender the lead of the group and rather face other teams other than Arsenal. A full strength Arsenal team will most likely knock out all those teams, bar Inter. Not only is Milan and Barca in a bad form, but their defence is very suspect lately and Barca’s attack hasn’t clicked yet.

Whoever wins the Champs League this season will definitely be the best team in Europe, and Arsenal is only behind Inter in terms of form, quality and fighting spirit.

I certainly don't think we'd be favourites against any of those teams, but in Europe we seem to strive in the face of adversity. This also seems true at the moment in the league, with our recent record against Chelsea, Liverpool and Utd being pretty decent.

The teams we seem to struggle against in the knock outs are teams that we're expected to beat.

The only team I'd be genuinely scared of drawing would be Barca; but then again, playing Henry's new team may inspire our players.

Inter, AC and Real Madrid I would all like to face. If we are to come 2nd, the team I fear facing is someone like Porto, who we would probably be expected to beat on paper

why? they aren't that good really imho, just the best by not much in italy, with a history of bottling their best chances, eg Villarreal. There is no real stand out side this time around and its quite easy imho to build a decentish case against all the teams that'll be left after the group stages.

This is a terrible thread.

Inter has been on great form for 17 months now.

I agree with the second bit, thats the final I also want.

But I don't think Inter are "the" favourites, but yeah, one of the favourites. For about half a dozen teams, group stage is just a formality. Inter are clearly one of those. The real competition for us starts in Feb, so lets wait and see what the form book looks like!

We haven't seen the best of Inter yet this season. There have been too many injuries/suspensions, specially key players. Which gives me hope that this season Inter may peak at the right time for the CL.

I want Arsenal in the next round!!!!!!!!!

Well, last time we met we technically came out on top 5-4 on aggregate

arsenal's reserves are not good enough, this is where their season will come unstuck.
The bigger teams have much better squads so arsenal will have to be very lucky to keep their important players fit as the 'kids' dont look up to it, this season.
