Not a great deal. A few opportunities that nearly resulted in chances but no decent efforts on goal yet. Lots of fouls, although the game is starting to flow a bit better now.
And Solano with the first real chance. Bridge went to sleep, Solano got in behind running diagonally across the pitch and tried to lift the ball over Cudicini but he put too much on the ball and lobbed it over the bar.
edit: The touchline reporter for Sky has just said that Drogba has complained to the fourth official that a West Ham fan is trying to shine the light from a laser pen in his eyes.

Tight game at the Bridge fellows. No clear cut chances, with only Cudicini's desperate save from Solano's lob that the ref did not call a corner kick for the Hammers.
Mikel should've gotten a red card for his tackle, but then again Joe Cole, Gerrard, Lampard and the like only get a verbal warning for those.

Hammers are playing a good game, frustrating Chelsea and not allowing them time to pass the ball and create chances, I can't see West Ham winning this, but they may hold out for the draw depending on concentration

If Mikel should have gone off then some West Ham players should have gone off before him. Cynical approach to the game from West Ham. This is everything that is wrong with English football. They've been sliding in from the outset and have been determined to lower the standard of the game.

The referee should have gripped the constant fouling of Mikel. Unfortunately teams know Mikel has a temper and try to provoke him. West Ham succeeded, no doubt they are very proud.
Six fouls by West Ham in the first 6 minutes says it all.

Mikels foul was a Yellow and not a Red IMO. His second foot was not dangerous but just a follow through.

Had that been Terry and not Upson who blocked that shot everyone would be complaining about how Terry gets away with blocking the ball with his hand.

nope for about all foreign footy in 1 go. few friends have it so if there's a really good match I can watch overthere. Nowadays you can get free streams for nearly any decent match anyway.Black Magic wrote:jdg loves st. nicholas wrote:not prepared to pay for that $h!t & didn't feel like watching the stream (expected a boring match)Black Magic wrote:jdg loves st. nicholas wrote:Anything happening?

Very true, but I don't blame them Hammers somewhat just like I don't blame England for dirtying a match when they're up against superior opponents like Spain for instance.
It is up to the Chelseas and the Spains of these particular encounters to find a way (with good football) to break the less talented team down. They almost always do, but you have the occasional upset.
