In the days around the draw UEFA announce an intent to investigate match fixing scandals, generally involving east auropean teams, whilst they clearly fix the draw for the euro 2008 to give the germans the best possible chance of winning it. double standards me thinks.

Is that true?

It involves betting syndicates in the Far-East betting on the preliminary rounds of the UEFA Cup and the CL.

Won't work anyway, they did the same at the 2006 WC *and* gave 'm the home advantage....the poor bastards couldn't even reach the final, they did as well as South Korea in 2002
