We're not playing well. Newcastle are harrying us and putting us under constant pressure and our passing is a bit off-target and a couple of players are losing theirs heads a bit. We should be able to cause them problems on the counter-attack though. Some of their passing out of defence has been poor. Newcastle are doing pretty well, but might run out of steam, they worked really hard in that first half and have looked dangerous from set pieces.

Unfortunately it looks like Eboue has replaced Henry as Adebayor's dancing partner. Erm

Martins was onside at the end there, even though the fat smug pervert in the commentary box didn't want to admit it. "Touch and go" my arse. ok

Apart from the Zog playing at left back(what the f@ck is that about) this has been better, much more positive. I hate to say it but Martins and Smith look alright as a combo, maybe that's the one. <Ale>

    Good game.

Newcastle is doing ok, but Given really is a poor keeper. A keeper over 5'11 would have saved a shot right on his head, but his kicking is awful, every time in the wrong place to an arsenal player. Also would remove one of the non footballers for someone creative, but not emre he's to small and weak.
Adebayor is quality but arsenal in general not so impressive today, not surprising since they are without so many players. Martins wasnt offside at the end there.

Eboue started off well but has been plain awful since his cross.
Proof here that we still do get nervous from hoof ball tactics.
Also, playing Diarra and Gilberto seems to be a bit risky as both of them have a habit of giving the ball away in their own half.

He's 5'11 these sites that have 6'1 is total bs, In the Ireland-Wales match the commentators mentioned he is so small for a keeper also at 5'11, it's not just my eyesight. He makes to many mistakes, to small and cant kick properly. Normal saves look world class because of his lack of height. Need a new keeper in the summer, sam knows it also. But Newcastle can still win today. The defence is to panicky, but so would i be if Given was behind me. <Ale>

Mostly gilberto to be fair. We probably should have started Denilson.

We also lack attacking midfield squad depth. Modric ok

No, he's 6'1 lerd. I've never seen him listed as 5'11. I've seen him standing next to Shearer and he looked an inch taller. He IS 6'1. <Ale>

no keeper can save that shot from such a short distance except by some fluke.

What I don't get is that Wenger doesn't let Eduardo play off Adebayor. He's wasted now. He's great at playing off a striker & Adebayor is a good striker to play off.

Yes, our tactics today are pretty obvious - concentrate on set pieces and try and upset Arsenal by being physical. We havent been terrible but theres been an obvious lack of quality from the midfield and defence. Butt has perhaps been the brightest of the midfield three, making a few bursting runs, but hes also been caught on the ball a few times and Adebayor almost took advantage on one occasion. Geremi struggles to get involved; Bartons passing has been absolutely horrible. N'Zogbia isnt having his best of games at left back, though its not his position, but hes misplaced a few balls, whilst Beye on the opposite flank is having a reasonable game, but the ball is going more down the left than the right. Whilst I appreciate what Rozehnal is trying to do in terms of pressing and pushing the play up the pitch, and making runs, its not really working this evening.

The front three have been our better players. Sagna is a strong right back, but Milner has still had a few good runs inside the pitch and hes managed to get in a few crosses. Smith is battling - as I said at the weekend, his mobility as the target man helps our 4-3-3 formation, gives us more of an outlet and helps us connect the play a little - hes held up the ball reasonably a few times but could do more with it. Martins has had a few good runs and like we've said, he wasnt offside at the end, made a nice little run to stay onside and could have scored.

Adebayors goal was fantastic. I dont think Given or any other keeper had a chance, he took it so swiftly. We are still in the game - Arsenal have spread things well a few times but we have had our chances too. Id like us to go to a 4-4-2, but we should at least bring Emre on at some point to add some quality.
