Its pretty accurate, but i dont understand how Essien isnt at least ahead of Mutu or Seedorf...bluenine wrote:Looks like no one else is voting. So here are the EB voting results:

1. C Ronaldo.. 135.........69%
2. Kaka.......... 120.........61%

4. Drogba....... 74..........37%

7. Riquelme..... 8............ 4%
7. RVN............ 8............ 4%
7. Seedorf....... 8............ 4%
10. Mutu.......... 6............ 3%
While I am not too happy with this result, but do think that this is much better top 10 than the Ballon D'Or list.

Certainly Mutu*. Seedorf is debatable.

Re: EB World Footballer of the year Award
You do realise that if anything, these are biased in favour of EPL players since over 40% of the votes are by epl fans as compared to just 12% from Serie A Fans.
Mutu won the "Serie A player of the season 2006-07" by the Il Calcio magazine. As for Seedorf, the CL skewed things in his favour I guess. Eissen plays in a position which is usually less noticed, personally I would put him in my top 10 of the year.

Re: EB World Footballer of the year Award
And how do you explain him coming on top from dutch and french votes?
Actually the real "neutrals" prefer Kaka, probably coz the CL takes precedence over the domestic form for them. The biggest surprise for me was the C Ronaldo topped the Italian vote!! Probably since I was desperate to get some italian reps, I included Deano in that list Jokes apart, its probably coz there is only one "italian" (gigli) in that list.

I imagine ronaldo would come out on top in the portuguese votes if they bothered, so i don't pay much attention to that one.
Dutch well they have a hatred of ronaldo but maybe they just rated kaka more, and france same. so 3 countries rate ronaldo more and 2 kaka ok. so ronaldo comes out on top

Re: EB World Footballer of the year Award
I found it hard to put an AC player at #1 tbh,.. and that's why i didn't. I mean they finished 4th 30 odd points behind Inter. The CL alone isn't enough, league performances are always the first thing i look at.

True league performances first..hence I put Ibra at the nr1 spot. And I really hate that guy...the stuff I sung about him when he was at ajax is simply not for repeat.
In other words...I really dont have any bias

You cant use the calendar year excuse to make up for his poor cl last year.
Ronaldo also has 5 this season, and 3 more in the calendar year so 8 in the cl. That's more than Kaka

Re: EB World Footballer of the year Award
In my opinion, looking at the calendar year, Ronaldo got better ranking because he has had a very crucial role to play in ManU's league win last season & their CL performance as well. While Kaka did win the CL with Milan, their home season last year was a disappointment. I actually follow the Italian league but I still voted Ronaldo as the best player purely based on these factors. Looking at the current seasons I guess both Ronaldo & Kaka are comparable in the CL, but Ronaldo I believe has an edge over Kaka in the home league.
I think if we were to look at players performances without letting our judgement be clouded by the leagues we support, that will be the best way to come up with these rankings.
