Disagree on most accounts : he definitely is a poacher, more than Ruud and slightly less than Pippo (as "type" not as "quality", he's nowhere near any of them of course).

He isn't pacy at all, he's quite slow for a modern player in fact.

Ten Cate was destroying KJH. IMO his ego has inflated and hes not the fresh-faced player he was in his first season + playing around $h!t players is not helping him .. hence why he is not doing good. He will leave this summer and I hope Ajax get lots and lots of money.

Don't know. could well be they paid him a huge sign on bonus in order to have to pay him less salary. That's what a lot of dutch clubs prefer to do, because it doesn't affect the overall salary structure (if 1 player gets a higher slary others want it too). Ajax did the same with Luque, he makes far less than at NUFC, but got a ridiculous sign on bonus. Now Huntelaar can't moan he's making less than Luque (in fact he probaly does if you divide Luque's sign on bonus by the number of years of his contract and add that to his annual salary)

The highest paid player is either at Ajax or PSV (guestimate 2M euro /year tops or 40k/week tops). All other clubs pay less.

That's why I respect Makaay so much, he could make far more money at other clubs, but picked Feyenoord. Great man!

Press is reporting Alves is not going to AZ. Seems Bangkok City is the most likely club for him then.

AZ offered the same & Heerenveen agreed. The problem was Alves (cq his agents) want a part of the transferfee (or a transferfee/sign on bonus for themselves). So my guess is that in order to get Alves, you or whoever wants to get him need to take into account the transferfee will be £12m for Heerenveen and a few M £ for Alves/his agents.

Boro should pay it and nick him. Alves Tuncay > yakubu viduka. Would probably be the signing to make sure they stay up also. And if DD is to believed after a year or 2 you could sell him to real madrid for 30 million.

The best thing is Tuncay was free , how many clubs missed that chance.

Apparently (according to Voetbal insite) Heerenveen are also not behaving properly with transfers. They want to allow Alves to leave, if he doesn't claim the 15% of the transferfee to which he's entitled according to his contract. They're supposed to have done this with other transfers before.

So Heerenveen's behaviour is as dubious as Alves' agents... (especially because they claim only Alves' agents are to blame)

Since 15% of 18M = 2.7M (which can be given to Alves in another way); 20.7 M should be enough to sign him...

Lots of sites are reporting we have bid £14m. However, we are also being linked with Fred for £9m. Ive not sen him play for ages so not sure how good he is at the moment.

That makes sense is about 21 M euro so should be enough. to please both Heerenveen & his agents.

Who to compare him to, always find that difficult, Kanoute is the first one that comes to mind, wonder what the other Dutchies think about that comparison. Think Kanoute is better at assisting/ laying off balls and Alves is a better poacher, also has a better shot (also freekicks).
