I tad surprising I must say, not because I think he doesn't deserve it, but because he is the smallest name in the list. I think Essien and Drogba are very unlucky to not get the award.
Congratulations Manu, you've really improved your game.

The 2007 shortlist of five players was drawn up by football experts from every country in Africa, based on players' individuality, skill, technical ability, teamwork, consistency and fair play.
Black magic mate i can assure you Adebayor was as good when he was playing at Metz! Monaco bought him for £6m at the time. You can't say he was "a good player" and now "a very good player" just because he is at Arsenal!Black Magic wrote:http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/africa/7194709.stm

Always thought he was great.Drogba is better though
No way is he technically better. Kanu had sick control and random skills.Luis wrote:He's been really impressive this season, he said he modelled himself on Kanu, well he's far better IMO, he has the qualities that Kanu had/have but is much quicker and techincally better IMO.

What as apposed to Gerrard playing as a shite CM.COTR wrote:S4P wrote:COTR wrote:At least they didn't give it to saint essien
i'm sick of seeing him being a mandatory pick for awards /best 11's / player of the season even when he has played half a season as a shite centre back

He's come a long way since his first game at Arsenal anyway. He couldn't finish, and he seemed clumsy. Now he finishes very well and his all round game is fantastic. Maybe next year he deserves this award. But this year no
Most Arsenal fans knew that when we signed him in the early part of 2006. Didn't he go on strike for the Togo national team over bonus and appearance payments?Arnaud loves Catherine wrote:Believe me he can have a very bad behaviour

No i keep my comments. When he played at Metz in D2 he was very prolific and the first time i saw him in the french d1 he was amazing...When he signed at Monaco he was good but nothing special...He had problems to score and his behaviour was debatable...Black Magic wrote:Arnaud loves Catherine wrote:Black magic mate i can assure you Adebayor was as good when he was playing at Metz! You are such a plank!
This is what you said in the "Why does everyone expect an Arsenal win" Thread:
I'm even shocked to see how Adebayor is so good in this league. In France he had huge problems to score...I was good at Metz and monaco but nothing special..Now some are comparing him to the best forwards in Europe!
Numpty.
I'll bump that thread now, it's in the Eurpean Cups thread.
