    oh dear

    what a total desaster

the man who is currently ruining Oranje's reputation for eternity is flirting with managing HSV, the German giants

on the plus side , this ludicrous move would raise the club's global appeal

maybe van Basten taking over HSV next season would not be bad then

after a year we could sack him, and by then the prestige of holding the job could even tempt Mourinho, who we would then sack after a year as well

two years of walking through the desert could be offset by the two years of being in the global media spotlight

Martin Jol and Co Ariaanse are the other candidates now

They're looking to continue the Dutch influence at the club then?

Who would you rather see given the job once Stevens has left Otto?

HSV are one of the top three clubs in Germany: historically

    maybe even the second biggest

unfortunately, they are also massively underfinanced

I would like to see Schuster at the helm

last year he was lobbying so desperately ANY Bundesliga club to appoint him (even Worlfsburg) and said that he would prefer Bayern over Real

    he could be tempted

otherwise Daum would be brilliant: he might not get promoted with Cologne and is wasted in that league

    Veh could be another option

    or, don't laugh

van Gaal: again it's an image thing; somebody has to put the club on the global map again; and if they lack the money to buy success they could still spend the money to buy world-wide media attention by appointing a big-name gaffer

Didn't think you would like that suggestion Anglo!

Are the others realistic suggestions? Schuster currently looks like he will have success at Real Madrid, but I don't think anyone would discount him leaving this summer, and with Bayern recently appointing Klinsmann there might not be many other alternatives in Germany if Schuster wants to manage a top side in the Bundesliga. Are there any other names being considered at the moment?

Or Schuster being fired this summer.

Schuster is absolutely clueless and it shows...

Real had no problems firing Capello after he won the title, so they'll probably chuck out the German numpty too.

Hell, even I could manage Real : all you have to do is play RVN and Casillas and you win the title Ale

as I said: it's mostly Dutchies

    van Basten
    Jol
    Co Adriaanse

apparently the club want a "harter Hund" as manager; a disciplinarian

    ie: not Klopp

I would opt for a big name like van Gaal

    or

    Daum

    or

    Buchwald

    or

    Bertie Vogts

    face it

you are a simpleton, even if a sweet one

Schuster is now possibly the best manager in the world

    certainly in the top 5

the Spanish media are RAVING about him

Cadena Ser : " this Schuster is sheer madness"

AS : " this is the best Real since that of the magical 50s"

Marca: " after 44 years REal finally bowls over all the big teams"

Schuster is doing all of that with a UEFA Cup quality side

I rate them on a par with Leverkusen

he managed to revive the erstwhile useless Raul, who had lost his zest under Capello

    Bernando also revived Robinho

I pray to God that he says after one year: thanks, but the HSV is next

    it REALLY COULD HAPPEN

Van Basten will be offered a contract soon from Ajax, he may have "ruled himself in" only because he wants a *good* contract from Ajax.

    Too good for HSV.

He was groomed by Hiddink to be his successor at PSV, but the chairman (looked like a powerstrugle to me at the time) opted for an expierenced manager (Koeman Laugh)...

Rutten (together with Eijkelkamp) went to FC Twente who are stealing the hearts of the Dutch football fans. They did very well last year, this year they're doing even better and almost every pundit (or manager of the current opponent) can't fail to mention they play the most-pleasing-on-the-eyes football in the Netherlands.

He's quiet, intelligent but no wuss. PSV wanted him to take over from Koeman, he wanted to go but left the decision to FC Twente : a man a man, a word a word....so he stayed on.

He's both manager and technical director at FC Twente (that's extremely unusual in Holland). I'd say that he's the new Dauphin (kroonprins ?) of the current Dutch managers crop. Verbeek, Jans & Atteveld look to be the rest of the royalty Wink
