DUTCH infight: LOUIS van Gaal vs. Basten, Koeman, Rijkaard..

Louis van Gaal constantly criticises the Dutch national team and especially Marco van Basten. He said Van Basten is not a good coach and uses the wrong players for his type of the game...

Koeman, who had to leave Ajax because he couldn't stand Van Gaal's chip on his shoulder to criticise him at Ajax while Koeman was the coach and Van Gaal was just the TD of the club, bounced back last week by saying Van Gaal has to shut-up and try to look at his own experiences as a national coach...

Van Gaal couldn't even qualify with the Dutch team for the World Cup while Van Basten, Rijkaard, Advocaat, Libregts and Hiddink all qualified for the World and/or European Cup....

He also wasn't too successful at Barcelona....

Also Van Basten, who mostly don't react on those critics bounced back and asked Van Gaal to get some self-criticism...

The third Dutch coach Rijkaard and successful at Barcelona said about the same thing about Van Gaal.... where is his self-reflection...?

Van Gaal is nowadays very successful with AZ Alkmaar. He built a complete new team and has already a lot of success in the Dutch league with the inexperienced group of players. HE also have a lot of success in the UEFA Cup where AZ beat, number one in Spain, Sevilla on their homesoil with 1-2 (two times Arveladse)..... But...

Is Van Gaal right to criticise the Dutch team or has he to shut up because he was the worst Dutch coach in the last twenty years.... ?

I think this guy is a pure idiot. He alway has been and will always be. It's kind of childish and foolish to criticize your own national coach, evenmore stupid, if you had this position in the past and you didn't do particularly well. I believe this man is bitter by nature, each time he sees his face in the mirrow in the morning, he's like pissed off, then he starts criticizing everything. I didn't know he was the coach of AZ Alkmaar! They are a very good team, that could go very far in the U.E.F.A club.
So in conclusion, Van Gaal should is a good (army) bitter club coach, he should keep his mouth shut, and mind his own business.

Van Gaal is a total idiot and is in no position (for *several* reasons) to make the remarks he made.

Ricardo, I think van Gaal is a genius almost as good as Hiddink under the right circumstances. I picked AZ to win Eredivisie this season because of him, and AZ having lots of young players. AZ will only get better under Louie.

Louie is wrong of course criticizing van Basten when he couldn't take the Oranje to the WC. Perhaps he wants a second chance with the Oranje, but criticizing his own colleague is not the way to go about it. "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones".

I really can't stand van Gaal, although is interviews are kinda cool..He has got a point though, yes we havent made the WC 2002, but he's got a point about MVB and Rijkaard....they just arent great coaches. I mean a great coach wins something with Sparta not with Barca. And did Mvb really that much better then van Gaal?? Mvb has a ridiculous selection method, and the way we play lately...

Van Gaal and Adriaanse maybe a bit odd, but if it comes to footballknowledge. I would take them anytime above Koeman, MVB, Rijkaard.

He is a genius that's true! But sometimes he is the biggest fool in the world as well... But that's perhaps the case with every genius...! In Holland people rate him very high and despite he failed to qualify for the WC he still did some great things as a TD of the KNVB...

He changed the Dutch youth system with a lot of success with the result the Dutch reached the semis in Peru WC U-17 and the Dutch won the EC U-21 in Portugal!

Louis wettest dream is to manage a team at the World Cup... He only made also some poor comments on that....

"I only want to manage countries with a great sport infrastructure like Argentina, USA, Australia, Germany etc.."

He also said, "I will never coach a team like T&T...."

Former T&T coach Beenhakker, who had the time of his life with coaching T&T, was very angry about that comment. "What is wrong with T&T...?"

We Dutchies love to attack each other and we think we always know things better than others....
