Rossi is an exciting player though, i think people will take to him

You say you've moved on but i've just had a look around a couple of man utd sites and you lot obviously still hate us. Infact it's obvious in here with lrd and nutwing. ok

Laugh i'm not really bothered by Newcastle TBH. I hate Alan Shearer though......

Could you see Geordie's actually booing Rossi? i can't imagine it, not for the type of player and person he is.....

Ameobi is the link up player, a Crouch-esque type of player(but better Wink ), Martins will be looking run in behind defences.

link up as in he comes foward for balls etc. but i wouldn't really class him as a player that can create in a second striker type role..

For me this is the Newcastle decision to assume themselves as a lower team in the EPL and accept to develop a young player for a bigger power, in exchange of his immediate value add to the squad.

I've always thought that Newcastle fans and board overrate their club, but this is too much of a downgrade.

Doesn't fit the history and dedicated fan base of Newcastle.

If I were incharge at Manchester, I'd refrain from sending a young and promissing striker to Newcastle... with the luck they're been having they'll send him back in about 10-20 pieces.

Good signing for Newcastle in terms of reputation and profile, but somehow I don't think he can deliver the goods...he hasn't really impressed me in his appearances for Man. Utd., and like Kimbo said there'll be too much pressure on him.

I hope I'm wrong and he scores 20 goals though.

No disrespect here, but in terms of talent,

    Rossi+Martins >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Keane+Defoe

I like Keane, he was at Inter as an youngster, but he is not even half of what Martins is.

TeamSpirit™️ wrote:If Rossi and Martins play together, it will be similar to the problem we (Tottenham) have with Keane and Defoe.

Ameobi is improving, but we'll see how Roeder fits things in. Clever deal on both clubs part IMO ok

Are Newcastle becoming the poor man's Inter - i.e. lots of good talented left-footed players, but not knowing quite how to play them.?

Not true... Martins does drop deep to fetch the ball, and plays to his advantages ie long runs... an ideal striker when employing the counter attack hit and run! The reason why Inter sold him is coz we needed someone who stays upfront to knock in goals (Crespo) and suffered last season coz both our top strikers (Adriano & Martins) were too deep to connect to crosses... I think we may have created a world record of wasted crosses last season.

But they're TOTALLY different players. It's a choice between Martins and Rossi(something Martins wins) to play alongside our only big man.

I'll be honest, everytime I've seen Ameobi I've wondered just how he remains at Newcaslte.

He was shocking against Sporting in the Uefa Cup run a couple seasons back. The only thing that guy was able to do was give Ricardo a good kick in the face. Punk almost made him lose his hearing (he looked like something was growing out of his face the bump was so big!), but of course the good local fans gave him a sound 'booing' session as we all know Portuguese guys always fake injuries Wink

    Pedro Mendes step forward.

He knocks in the odd goal, but ususally looks completely out of place for my liking.

Ameobi's really improved under Roeder, he's been scoring alot of goals.

And Ricardo was being a girl, he was lying on the ground crying for about 5 minutes.

Did you see his face after the match Kimbo? Maybe you didn't read the part about almost loosing his hearing...

The guy looked like he had a tumor growing out of his face. He didn't even travel back with the team right away. They had to take him to the hospital for proper medical attention.

Let me kick you in the face with studs and we'll see how quickly you get up mate.

Rolling Eyes Well he should've gone off then, he shouldn't have stayed on the pitch for so long. Accidents happen in football. ok

Well it wasn't his legs was it, it was a head injury and he wasn't unconcious... therefore he has no reason not to get up and get off the pitch, the git was milking it! ok

The keeper doesn't have to get off now does he?

He received treatment and got on with the match. Your problem, and that of the rest of the supporters in Newcastle that day, was that he's Ricardo and Euro2004 was still way too fresh in your minds.

Guess he's not gotten any better in your books after the WorldCup;)

Well then Kimbo, you're off the mark. The keeper doesn't have to get off until he's received treatment...which I'm sure you know, but have conviently forgotten for this particulare example Wink

Back to Ameobi, he may have gotten better, but truth is he couldn't have gottem much worse.

I saw him bang in two goals the other day and was a little surprised. I don't see this becoming the norm for him, but I could be wrong.
