Post by Tweesus Mon Feb 25, 2008 12:16 pm

Is it as bad as made out?

As a challenge I thought we could try and make a best uncapped XI of English players.

So far I've come up with:

    ------------Foster-------------

    ??????--Taylor,S-Davies,C--Baines

    Bullard--Sidwell--Osman--Johnson, A

    ------Agbonlahor--Ashton------

I'm assuming Glenn Johnson has been capped. Has he?

Also can't remember but did Capello cap Davies?

Any position that can be improved upon?

Onuoha could be the rightback. Has played for Man City numerous times this season, still only 21.

Andrew Taylor for another left back option, though he's been injured for a bit now.

Has Etherington ever been called up?

If i was a betting man i would put my money on Arsenal, but i hope we either keep him or sell him to a foreign club. He signed a 5 year deal at the start of the season so we should be in a strong position to ask for whatever we want.

He has Willy McKay as his agent so he will leave sooner or later, he'll be whispering things about signing on fees in his ear. If he does end up going to your lot he will leave after 2 seasons, i would bet on it.

They probably make as many errors as each other.

    @ Robert

Funny today, Jenas was trying to say King and Woodgate should be the England centre back partnership. Although they are both great on form, they've only played 1 game together!

You'd have to have two centre backs on the bench as well in case of injuries.

Infairness, Dawson was excellent at Forest, and the early days of his Spurs career. He followed a similar path to Robinson though - got picked up on a fair few mistakes over a short period and his confidence has been shot to pieces.

Not a patch on King or Woody to be honest. No loss to England though- they've got plenty of decent central defenders. Like Chris Riggot
