No, or he would of played in the League cup final.
Should be in the first XI on a regular basis though? Probably yes.

Was on the tube last night and overheard some Man Utd fans (assuming they were Man Utd fans 'cause that's who they were mainly talking about) saying that Ballack is now shite and not a patch on Lampard because he doesn't work hard enough (yet somehow always ends up in the correct position).
For all that the likes of otto and deisler like to rave about him, he's really got back to his old Munich form this season. Unlike Shevchenko, I can't see how Ballack can be labelled as a flop.

forget it , he gets so much slack because of Otto and Deisler , as everything German is a target.
He has been very good this season , good for the Euro.

essien and ballack should both play, lamps on the bench.

I think everybody should just leave the pitch, and let Lampard and Gerrard settle it once and for all!!!

Is this settled, or are there still objections?
Other food for thought:
Lampard & Ballack -> works for Chelsea
Lampard & Gerrard -> does not work for England
Discuss.

well done today frank lampard, must have taken a lot of guts to take that penalty (still think ballack should have taken it, has he ever missed a penalty?) under the circumstances.
maybe the problem is gerrard?

No! No! No! It was the absolutely correct decision! Like I've said repeatedly, German football law: The player who gets fouled should never take the penalty!
We know our penalties, trust us on this.
Congrats again btw.

Plus Frank is genuinely the no.1 penalty taker. Ballack may be better at them, but I think Frank's never missed in normal time (i.e. excluding penalty shoot-outs).

Ballack should be an automatic pick. Him and Lampard have shown they can work together but if pressed I would choose Ballack over Lampard.
Incredible nerve shown by Frank to take that penalty, very pleased for him in particular to reach the final.
Roll on May 21st

Possibly not for Chelsea. He did for England.
