arguably the most interesting game tonight

both countries have an excellent chance of reaching the semis

    so this game is BIG

    come on, chaps

    let's have your predictions

    --------------------------------

    I go for a 3:1 for Germany

Frei scoring the first goal after a Lehmann insecurity

Klose, Gomez and again Gomez sending the Alpine nation packing

Stop it, Otto. We don't need another endless Torwart dicussion. The press would go ballistic.

I go for a boring 2:1 (Gomez, Hitz) for Germany btw.

I have a hunch Arne will make a mistake (honest misunderstanding) forcing Jens to do something silly

the Londoner will look like a complete oaf but maintain he did nothing wrong

half of the trees in Sweden will then be cut to provide enough paper for an in depth analysis of our impending goalie doom

Well, one positive to draw out of this is that Löw didn't bow to public pressure re:Adler/Neuer.

I'm still debating whether or not to watch the game, though.

Poldi scores after 30 minutes on the pitch, Kuranyi assists

    sensational stuff

I hope Hitzfeld , Hoeness and Dummenigge are watching

all you have to do is PLAY Poldi

    rather than bench him

    excellent stuff

I predicted a 3:1 victory with Klose scoring first, followed by TWO Gomez' goals

    and that's EXACTLY what happened

    +

a late Poldi goal and ZERO conceded goals by Lehmann

the evening could not have been more brilliant

we are ready for the Euros

    Ale

Highlights of the match: Metzelders ever growing Taliban-look-alike beard and German fans singing "Ihr seid nur ein Käselieferant". Laughing

The match itself was ok; ball control, passing and movement in the first half was very average though and Ballack should stop with his EPL passes.

    and

    Poldi + Gómez = Fußballgötter

    cheers

    IDEAL result

Lehmann does NOT concede = no idiotic journalistic rounds of soulsearching

Klose is BACK: after scoring fewer than usual at Bayern where hacks started questioning him

    Poldi gets a confidence boost

    ditto Kuranyi for his assist

and Gomez is now the undisputed striker next to Klose , his confidence being sky high

    +

the other countries did not shine

    a) France struggling to beat England
    b) Holland struggling to beat Austria
    c) Italy so far drawing with Spain
    d) Greece beating Portugal
    e) Switzerland getting pawned by us
    f) Croatia drawing against Scotland
    g) the Czechs drawing against Denmark
    h) Russia losing against Romania (who could spring a surprise)

Switzerland have a good team and could suprise a few people at the Euros

    by the way

Gomez , with his two goals + one assist + his sensational Bundesliga form, is probably going to take Euro 2008 by storm and become THE player of the tournament, probably outshining Golden Boot World Cup Winner Klose
