Surely the game of this day!!! What will the German line-up be? Will Low play Ozil, Kroos and Marin together against those Australian axemen? Let's hope Müller will start!

What? If anything, Löw overestimated them in his comments, made them sound like world beaters. Nobody will underestimate them, Germans normally don't do that.

Australia are probably very slightly worse than the USA but like USA they're likely to play well as a team and have a top class keeper and a couple of midfielders that could pose a few problems.

Where do people think Özil is most dangerous? Starting in a central position like today, or attacking from either the right or left flank.

He is playing on his ideal position. He is most effective when he has total freedom. He is very mobile, so he will move to the flanks all the time anyway.

But with Kroos in the squad, I'd play him in the centre behind the striker (because Özil is more mobile and a better dribbler), Özil on the left and Marin on the right. That would be my first choice attacking midfield.

I can see why Löw is reluctant to play all three of Özil, Marin and Kroos, although from a purists perspective it would be lovely to watch. Hopefully the likes of Marin will be effective coming off the bench. I suspect that trio would be more likely if your centre forward looked like more of a goal threat. As it is, Podolski playing from the left reminds me a little of how Pedro has been used at Barcelona this season, where he isn't the best footballer but offers a genuine goal threat from the left flank.

    Enjoy the game. Ale

Good point about Podolski gunner. Müller is actually a second striker, too. That's what some fans are criticising about that lineup, playing two supporting forwards on the wings, no real wingers. It's a very attacking lineup regardless.

Good thing about Müller however is his early pressing, putting pressure on the opposition defence and normally winning a lot of balls. Müller's ideal position is actually where Özil is playing. Hope there will be a lot of positional changes up front at least, will make things less predictable.

    Thanks. Ale
