    Post by Ä Sun Jun 20, 2010 9:49 pm

    THIS Wednesday

arguably THE game of the World Cup up to THAT point

    Europe's FINEST vs Africa's FINEST

a draw for either team could mean the END

Donner und Blitzen is what expects us

the tension in the German camp is already palpable

Lahm, Löw and Co all looked a tad nervous in the press conference

    Neutral

IF Germany get knocked out, it will be the FIRST time in the history of the World Cup that a participating MANNSCHAFT has NOT made it beyond the Group Stage

    Shocked

already LOSING in the Group stage is almost unheard of

    Shocked

the combo of a lunatic Spanish ref, a metrosexual manager and a Pole taking our penalty made it possible

    Shocked

here is the good news though

look a the YEARS when Germany lost a game in the Group Stage

    1954, 1974, 1982, 1986 ( I think)

we also lost a Group Stage game at Euro 2008 against Croatia

what do all these 5 dates have in common , me wonders ????

    Very Happy

    yep

and went on to reach the FINAL of the World or European Cup

    sometimes, even winning OUTRIGHT

    cheers cheers cheers

THIS could be our Five-Set-Game that you have to win to clinch the Wimbledon title

    cheers Biggrin <Ale> Bubbly

how do you see this one going ?

A draw is enough for Ghana to qualify for the next round. For us, it very likely isn't. So Ghana actually have the advantage in this regard.

If he's on form, Germany's going out. Ale

    Otherwise Germany will win.

Oh and to spice things up in the Heimat, a Kevin Prince Boateng brace would also get the Germans riled. Laughing

I think Germany will win, but you're right in saying it's one of the most tasty ties of the group stage.

Ghana need to be positive. If they play for a draw they won't hold out.

I cannot for the love of God imagine Löw selecting Badstuber again

and , obviously, Klose is out

this is now our likely line-up, me thinks

    Cacau

    Poldi, Özil, Müller

    Schweini , Khedira

    Jansen, Merte, Friedrich, Lahm

    Neuer

    ---------------

I think Cacau is NOT a lone-striker type

which really means we probably play more of a 4-2-4 system in reality

    Yikes

I believe we have only played this system in the second half against Bosnia

    Yikes

the good news is that Ghana look dodgy at the back and our boys will produce wave after wave after wave after wave

    of attacking power

    on paper

    we will win this

    BUT

if Ghana score first, and with us needing THREE points rather than merely ONE

our VERY YOUNG TALENTS could just crumble

    Yikes

could become the Game of the 21 st Century though

    maybe, maybe not

somebody on here said that THIS Germany had more flair than the Mannschaften of the past, BUT looked a lot less clinical

in the olden days, you felt that when a MANNSCHAFT needed a goal with 10 minutes down

    THEY WOULD GET IT

but that is the PAST and we Germans are MODERN now

    Very Happy

I really wonder what WOULD happen , IF Ghana parked the bus and merely tried to HIT us on the BREAK

    it could WORK

the thing about Ghana is that they are VERY DODGY

    DEFENSIVELY

    and their goalie, Kingston

    is EVEN DODGIER

    Shocked

so IF they come to play, and thereby provide us with SPACE, they could be in for a surprise, a BLOODBATH

then again, do they have the DISCIPLINE and ORGANISATION to sit back and wait for wave after wave after wave of German attacks

    ?

    scratch

also what speaks for Ghana parking the bus is that THIS GERMANY is DELIBERATELY weak on SET-PIECES

    statistically

    what was once our STRENGTH

has become irrelevant to how we win games these days

a German corner or free-kick , followed by a Teutonic header had defenses trembling with fear in the past

    this is also gone

we are MODERN now and play on the ground and through the middle and preferably with short-one-touch-passes

set-pieces are no longer really trained by Löw

    Neutral

IF Ghana come TO PLAY and give us space , they will just run into what will feel like a thousand little pocket-knives lying on the ground

    MANY little CUTS

reminding me of that scene in Jurrasic Park where Jeff Goldblum and Co are attacked by a swarm of MINI dinosaurs, that take a nimble and end up eating you WHOLE

    Shocked

as I said, the KEY to this game will be who scores the FIRST GOAL

IF Ghana DO, you will have 11 WILD TEUTONIC BEASTS in search for a COLD SHOWER

since they are NOT used to it, you will see FEAR in their EYES

but the ADRENALIN will be pumping so hard, that they will NOT notice, their pristine white shirts are getting DIRTY

    Shocked Very Happy

the question then is whether UNCONTROLLED AGGRESSION of people used to controlling and even PADDING their aggression in bubble foil, can suddenly HURT anybody

    IF Ghana STAY COOL

    we are FUCKED

if they lose it in an attempt to answer hit with hit (type: saloon mass brawl),

we will end up with the GAME of the 21st CENTURY

    Shocked Very Happy

pity that Essien is not on the pitch

but a HUNCH tells me that KP Boateng is gonna have the game of his life

    Shocked cheers

    PS

did anybody know that the father of the Boatengs is a REAL LIFE TRIBAL PRINCE ??

    cheers

we could see ROYAL blood on Badstuber's perfectly white shirt

will he CRY or keep it as a fond memory , me wonders ?

    Biggrin

VDV said that the second Ghana concede a GOAL and are TRAILING

    they just COLLAPSE

if this is true, it really means that Germany need to get that first goal more than anything

in fact, IF Germany score first, a BURDEN will lift off the shoulders of our warm-shower-takers

a burden as heavy as "the Bismarck"

    and in THAT case

our boys will come out to PLAY football

"sie werden sich in einen Rausch spielen"

    PREDICTION TIME:

IF Germany score first , the game will end 6:1 for the Vaterland

    cheers

IF Ghana score FIRST , fairly early on in the game

we will have a MASS-BRAWL that could tear down the entire SALOON

    called "World Cup 2010"

it could be the beginning of a NEW PEACE MOVEMENT

When Germany is cornered and wounded it usually gets the most out of the situation, in other words, I expect nothing less then a decisive victory for Low's Afrikakorps!

But this goes for the old Germany, not sure if it goes for the new Germany where haircuts are good, players miss penalties and a coach who can tell you the difference between velvet and silk.

So this remains a very interesting fixture.

That's the thing. Usually Germans don't have to worry about this scenario they'd find a way to win or just be too street smart for Ghana. But this new Germany is not really that German. So anything can happen i doubt it will go smoothly thats for sure.

    Allofs criticises Löw

    http://www.sport1.de/de/fussball/fussball_dfbteam/newspage_252698.html

saying , that playing Özil up front ALONE, after Klose had seen the second yellow and BEFORE he brought on Cacau was silly

everybody at Werder knew that it would not work

    Ale

that's the thing with playing Cacau as a lone-striker as well though

he is NOT a target-man AT ALL

nor can he head a ball

the whole strategy will only work, IF Ghana open up and come out to play

IF they park the bus, we have a problem and will rely on Özil, Müller and later Marin to FORCE a penalty

    ------------

amazing to see what kind of FAN-CLUB Löw now has in Germany amongst FOOTBALL PEOPLE

Daum, Hitzfeld and even Völler all think he should CONTINUE his good work IRRESPECTIVE of how this Ghana game (and therefore this World Cup campaing ) ends

    in other words

IF Germany get kicked out of the World Cup in the FIRST ROUND

    for the first time EVER

Löw STILL has support to continue WHAT HE HAS STARTED

    Germany Sad
It might be an even contest but Ghana won't do it. They bottled it against Australia and when you consider how poor African countries have been so far and their history of bottling I fully expect Germany to win it.

What speaks for Ghana is that they are the only team in group who match up well in midfield against Germany. So far the Germany have been able to use Ozil and when Serbia tried to close him out Khedira stepped in with several good runs from deep that kept Serbia uncertain even with 10 men. Ghana however will have Annan infront of defence to take care of Ozil while Boateng and Asamoah will keep Schweinsteiger-Khedira pinned back.

Tagoe should stay up on the pitch to keep Lahm from participating too much and I think they can afford it because Badstubber isn't that impressive and Ayew should play against him. Plus Gyan should be able outpace any of Germany's defenders by some distance and Serbia had a lot of space to counter attack on against Germany. Gomez starting and Podolski continuing his performance from against Serbia and Ghana could very well do it cheers

    .....but won't.

    IF Löw sticks to Badstuber,

who would he play against (most likely); supermardrid says Ajew ?

    how FAST is he?

some German paper pointed out that Krasic had reached a top speed of over 30 km/h

whereas Badstuber's top speed was in the low 20s

    Löw is VERY stubborn

it would NOT surprise me , if he went for the Justin Bieber lookalike

Ghana tends to switch Ayew and Tagoe quite a bit. Ayew is a good dribbler allthough not as pacy as Krasic but he is quite a good dribbler. Ghana's coach has to identify this weak point in Germany's defence because it was so obvious against Serbia.

But actually it was working well - Ozil was playing well as false "9", he drop deep and put some great passes, for Muller and Podolski attacking from wide areas, or Khedira making runs in the centre. Germany were just very wasteful, but the system was working very well... until Ozil was benched.

Not sure how much it will affect Ghana chances (especially mentally), but Sulley Muntari was kicked out from National Team, despite some players trying to persuade Rafevac to re-think his decision.

If Ghana will play the same central defenders, as they did against Australia, I see Germany beating them comfortably. If John Mensah and the other guy will be back, than it can get tougher for Loew and his players.

    agree

our left-wing is our achillis heel

Badstuber is a decent central defender + an option as a full-back against middling Bundesliga sides

against TOP opposition like ManU, Krasic... he is too slow and caught out of position

the Friedrich-Merte combo has not gelled either yet, because Löw tried out Boateng, Tasci, Westermann...for too long

and Neuer is on 3 or 4 internationals only now

add to that Poldi not doing any defensive work in midfield on that side

and Ghana know where and how they can slice us open

the problem is that Löw kicked out experienced players like Schäfer, and selected equally inexperienced left-backs as Aogo

    a HUGE talent

but TALENT being the capital word

RAW as it gets and produces one howler AT LEAST per game

(same applies to Boateng, wherever he plays)

Löw could play Jansen as left-back, but the lad is a midfielder these days, and maybe not fit yet, let alone match-fit

neither Khedira nor Schweini seem to have the discipline to HELP out on the left either

    they just do their thing

if the Ghana coach is clever, he will HIT our left AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN

the question is whether Ayew and Tagoe have the discipline to do so over 90 minutes and whether the rest of the team supports them

my hunch is, they do NOT and Germany will either get away with it and even have a FEAST

it's the likes of Argentina in the QF that would expose our weakness BRUTALLY though
