Well, I guess this comparison is bound to happen.... its the classic Inter vs Milan, Italy vs Brasil, etc

Who is the bigger talent of the two? Who would you prefer in your team?

THE DUCK Pato, 18 yrs, Played 14 games for Milan this season, scored 7 goals.
SUPERMARIO Balotelli, 17 yrs, Played 8 games for Inter this season, scored 5 goals.

While Pato has just scored on his debut for Brasil, Balotelli will only be eligible to play for Italy U21 in August.

Well a gues would be that Balotelli will get more goals and be more effective. i think he could be something like Drogba playing well as both a lone striker and in a two striker system. Pato will defo get all the praise for his style but might not be as effective as Balotelli and will prob need to play in a more offensive team then Balotelli for example. anyway hard to say so early especially since Balotelli hasnt played much else then Copa games.

I would like to give an informed (and my usually incredibly biased) opinion : but I've hardly seen either of them play.....so can't say anything about them

Obviously. Pelle had potential, which he hasn't not live upto. There are 3-4 strikers of Pelle's potential out every year in Italy... some make it, some don't.... Balotelli is special, he is in an entirely different category of talent.

Super mario will be more prolific than the duck, but the Duck has more flair to his game.

Yea Pato has only just turned 18.

I've seen little of Pato, but what I will say is that he seems to be very pacey, is two footed, and has all the tricks in the book, but as yet doesn't really use any of his obvious ability effectively yet. I'd like to see him dribble a bit more.

Seen even less of Balotelli, so am not going to comment.

Ok here my contribution, I haven't seen Balotelli so I cant comment on him.

But from Pato I like his pace, they way he controls the ball, to be honest I think he all around game is good and he always scored in his debuts, which shows that he can deal with pressure and big expectations, that shows character, and I like that very much.

Tell me what you like about Balotelli Blue

Balotelli has pace, a strong physique, and ability to dribble... like Martins before him... but fortunately unlike Martins, Balotelli has shown a very cool head in front of the goal. As shown yesterday, and in the braces that he scored against Juventus and Reggina.

He has risen from the challenge put in front of him (ie great strikers to compete with for a place - Ibra, Crespo, Cruz, & Suazo) has responded beautifully so far. Still not up there in the pecking order, but he is only 17. Mancio will ease him into the starting XI over the next 2 years.

Pato has a head start, mostly due to Milan's striker woes.
