Chelsea have the upper hand. If they leave Lampard on the bench they could become clear favorites...Smile

    ok

We were awful until he came on. But with Essien back, Belletti and Kalou hopefully starting we should be much better at the Bridge.

Belleti's always got a mistake in him!

Much better on the ball than Ferreira and gives you more in attack. Our right flank was dreadful tonight.

Bona looked more like Henry then Sala. With Sala its all about keeping the feet on the ball and see where it ends. Bona is much more like Henry with a more explosive style of play.

We deserved to win, but Riise wasn't at fault for the Chelsea goal. It was 2 vs 1 and he had to get some contact on the ball because otherwise they would have scored anyway. Where were the rest of our defense? Anyway, never mind, we were the better team, Alonso was class, and it's not like we're out of it just yet.

    The ref was bollocks.

Disagree, Riise is probably going to have to start as Aurelio looks seriously injured, I think they other players will step up their game because they realize that they should have put the game away earlier and they'll want to pick up their teammate after a grievous mistake. I don't see how Chelsea takes a psychological boost out of this, "Yea! We can go home and keep a clean sheet and win because their defender screwed up, HOW AWESOME ARE WE?!"

This would be the ideal response from your team. But for Chelsea however this late equaliser feels like a win, they'll be much more confident than they would have been after a 1:0. Makes it much easier for them also, knowing that a goalless draw would be enough for them to qualify for the final. Liverpool have to score at the Bridge, while Chelsea don't have to score as long as they keep a clean sheet.

But still, I think that the chances are 50/50, and that it will be a tight match, probably needing extra time / penalties even.

Malouda's effort, Ballack's effort and but for some serious lack of control, Lampard and Joe Cole would have had excellent chances.

You were better than us tonight, but certainly not a lot better. The only joy out of this game is that tomorrow's game will be no better (might have more passing and a better flow but it won't have the same level of tension).

Yes imo he is (don't know about McA). Much more variation and more unpredictable than the players you mention. Messi is second when it comes to dribbling. Heerenveen's Sulejmani isn't bad either.

The ref was pretty good. Missed the foul against Kuyt and was generous to give the foul on Torres which lead to the goal but other than that he stopped the game getting nasty by calling up all those niggling fouls that you normally get away with.

Ballack wasn't fully fit after the injury, that was pretty clear tonight. Still, he could and probably should have played better though.

Will be an interesting match at the Bridge for sure. But never ever write off Liverpool in Europe, this is still far from over.

Yes that's a balanced view. Chelsea only played well in a couple of patches plus 20 seconds at the end. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's game. Man U and Barcelona, huge game both sides with players who can turn it on. Why won't it be tense?

Football is a contact sport so defenders have to be able to challenge. From the very first minute he was giving fouls for nothing.

He did get the bigger decisions right though, apart from knowing when four minutes is up Wink

The ref was shocking, but no one can claim that he was biased! He gave appaling decisions in favour and against both teams whenever there was the slightest bit of contact. The freekick he gave to Chelsea in the opening minutes was laughable.
