Re: Lahm to leave Bayern
If Man Utd could sign Lahm then we would kill two birds with one stone.
New first choice RB: Lahm > Neville > Brown
Backup LB: Evra > Lahm > Silvestre
What do you think Lahm's transfer fee will be?

Apparently only 15m Euros. Ridiculous if true.

Lahm will be quite cheap, because his contract ends in June 2009. €15m sounds right.

Re: Lahm to leave Bayern
I could see Lahm working at Liverpool though : Kuyt will help him in defense.....they could play some type of total football....
Yep, I can see that work

Re: Lahm to leave Bayern
Looks like Lahm really wants to leave. He just gave an interview, talking about moving abroad:
http://www.stern.de/sport-motor/fussball/:Lahm-Bayern-Abschied-Mein-Entschluss/618118.html
He says that he always intended to leave Bayern after a couple of years. There are 4-5 clubs in Europe who have an even higher budget than Bayern, and therefore are more likely to win the CL, a title he really wants to win it seems. According to Lahm, Bayern are not ready to reach the CL final next season. Furthermore, Klinsmann taking over has no influence on his decision whatsoever.
This really reminds me of Ballack, he basically is saying exactly the same as Ballack did a couple of years ago. The difference however is that Lahm was born and raised in Munich, and is a product of the Bayern youth.
Lahm also confirms himself that he has the opportunity to move to 'renowned' clubs in Spain and England.

So little Philipp really has an offer from Barcelona, and as it seems they´re even prepared to spend a lot of money for him.
I´m happy for him, he will surely make it at Barca.

yep i think people have failed to notice that there has been a huge change in transfer fees as contract length is now much more of an issue, co of potential buy outs and bosmansblutgraetsche wrote:Lahm will be quite cheap, because his contract ends in June 2009. €15m sounds right.

Beckenbauer doesn't want to let Lahm go.

Re: Lahm to leave Bayern
Is there any indication what sort of wages Lahm is after, and how much Bayern are offering?

Re: Lahm to leave Bayern
No, no details about that.
Guess Barca are offering him pretty high net wages (due to the low tax rate for footballers in Spain), and Bayern are not willing to match that, knowing that they probably have to pay him 30-40% more for him to earn a similar sum after tax.
And Lahm really wants to move abroad it seems, I don't think that it is only a money issue. Klinsmann wants him to stay though.
