    Aren't goalies incredibly underrated ?

In Holland the common opinion is that the sole reason for three (four ?) consecutive PSV titles is Gomes.....yet there's a limited transfer fee in his contract of 14 M and still no one has come knocking Doh

we have a horrible record v Madriz and there is one reason and one only Iker Casillas, always seems to pull off blinding saves at crucial points of matches which seems to spur them on and deflate us. can't man ure or chavski buy him please.

Rijkaard genuinely seemed lost last night so I fear a new manager is required but massive changes aren't needed just some fine tuning to bring those there back in line.

If Ten Cate leaving caused some of these problems, then rijkaard is at fault for this for not replacing him with a similar personality.

I actually felt sorry for Rijkaard. I've never really had contempt for him because he comes accross as an honest, good person. But at the same time that may just be his weakness since it transcends to his coaching. Last night he looked like he was about to start crying and at times he just had his head down for long periods of time. This is unnacceptable for a coach and it showed that he's clearly finished in Barcelona.

Not really...Madrid's transfer policy was awful and anybody could see the players they were bringing in were not the right ones. And the constant manager changes didn't help either.

No, I mean it's hard to get rid of the deadwood. Obviously for a good long time we weren't too sharp in bringing in new players either. But it's hard to dump the big contracts for unmotivated, past-it players unless you are willing to let players go for free. It's not easy.

Ahh yes, that I agree with. That's why we still have Gudjohnsen. I'm also 99% sure we'll still have Henry this season, and the Ronaldinho transfer is going to be a real problem.

For me it was very symbolic of the whole team - there is no fight left in the group of players (there are a few exceptions, of course).

you could have got rid of him to the EPL easily. same with henry if he'd go anywhere other than arsenal.

Arsenal did a great job by making 24m€ out of him, why would they want him back?

Casillas is going to go down as the greatest goalkeepr in our history. Every game he comes up with at least one, blinding save and usually it's more than that. He's a phenomenon.

Doh they don't BUT he's said he wouldn't play for anybody else in england IF Barça could get him to change his mind they'd easily offload him to another EPL club.

FC Groningen was playing PSV off the pitch this season : Gomes held out 4 certain goals.....we ended up losing the match.

Against Heerenveen it was even worse : Heerenveen were playing 3 classes better than PSV but Heurilio was impossible to beat.

One of the best moments of the season was when a completely frustrated Sibon shouted something at him after yet another impossible save.

When later asked what it was he shouted at his former teammate, it turned out it was a hilariously heart meant "start acting NORMAL for god sakes !!!" Wink

Goalkeepers that earn you points are incredibly rare, here's to them Ale

That is true. He is the keeper with the most shots on him in the league or he has been for some time. puts the fact he has conceeded the least in perspective.

Touré was pretty much playing as CB because our midfield disintegrated.. Xavi was swamped, Guddy ran around like a headless chicken (but so did a lot of others) and Touré was pushed back helping Márquez..
