This guy is worse than Owen and Trezeguet in terms of doing nothing to help the team when he isnt scoring. Klose and Gomez is an awful combination, lazy bastard Toni wannabes.

Needless to say, Gomez has disappointed. That said, I think he is a fantastic talent (granted I have seen very little), but in Germany's most recent friendly (incidentally against Austria) he took his two goals expertly, as he has appeared to do through much of the season. He's had a poor tournament, but $h!t happens. I think if he had got an early goal, things would have been very different, but alas his confidence has been shattered and he does need to be dropped. Nothing has gone right for him, his passing, shots, control, decision making - it is purely a confidence issue

Never know, perhaps he'll come on as a sub and get the winner against Portugal, turning his tournament around
