Madrid sign Garay for just 10 million euros!!!

I don't think Liverpool are interested. Well, maybe the fans are, but Benitez already has Torres and he is never going to play with two forwards so I don't think Villa will want to go and sit on the bench.

I dont know about that because benitez has played with two strikers many times but they simply havent had the quality so i dont think he would shy away from that. also Arsenal are also interested i hear today and Wenger are reportedly willing to spend £25mil. We should be trying to get him and he would be almost perfect except a loss in height in our attack but we cant keep spending millions like it means nothing.

When has Benitez ever played with two out-and-out strikers? And Kuijt/Babel when playing on the wing does not count.

Wenger will never sign Villa. Too high profile a name for Arsenal.

He has tried in the start of the season with Kuyt and Torres and then later with Torres and Crouch. i think if he got the quality of villa he would play two strikers. also Wenger is looking to get someone high profile to prove to the fans that they are still a big club. allthough i gues we will be able to spend more then the other two. question is if Villa wants to go to Real more then Liverpool and perhaps Arsenal. he has talked about both these clubs.

So back on subject, it appears that it is not decided yet whether Garay will join us yet this summer or continue at Racing for a year on loan. He could join us for 08/09 if Schuster wants him; in that case we would have to pay Racing an extra million euro. Otherwise, he will play for us beginning in 09/10. It seems it will all depend on whether or not Metzelder stays or goes.

I can't believe we let him slip past us... Txiki is an idiot. Now we are stuck with Márquez for another season.

Marca says he will stay on loan at Racing for the coming season...I guess that's why the fee was relatively low. Next summer he'll have just one year left on his contract IIRC.

We can only hope that the injury he got this year wasnt a sign of things to come because it almost be too much. a bad move if they have already decided that he should stay another year. we should wait to see if we could get anything from Heinze or maybe Metzelder. hopefully Metzelder has a good Euro with any injuries.
