Breaking News - Robben to Bayern for 25 million Euros

Marca and AS are reporting it as a done deal. It's meant to also facilitate Ribery's transfer to Real Madrid next summer

Fucking Valdano and Perez never learn. We just got rid of one of our most impressive players in pre-season, and after a seemingly looking great squad just a few days ago, our squad is thin once again, at least for attacking positions

So without Robben and with no Ribery, who plays on the left?

Ronaldo?

Kaka? Granero?

Ronaldo has been playing on the left most of pre-season, so I guess it will be him. Although since Pellegrini doesn't play with wingers and expects the fullbacks to provide the width, it doesn't really matter if it's Ronaldo, Granero, Kaka, etc.

There's also rumors floating around that Ribery could very well be signed before the transfer window closes, which would explain why the club pushed Sneijder so hard to leave and now have sold Robben. But looking at the past, Valdano hasn't always been the smartest with transfers so anything is possible.

Well the way Real have handled themselves has made it a buyers market.

By pushing the players out, they're never going to get the same money as they would get if they were sold for how much their true value in the current market is.

That's where the whole Perez experimnt might financialy fall flat on its face.

Is this for real, since no Dutch source has reported it yet..and since the spanish press says Robben would go to Bayern for 3 months now..

It was said earlier in the summer that part of Perez's "business plan" was not just to cover the cost of these signings through shirt sales and marketing/TV revenue, but also by raising at least 100m in instant cash via player sales. They were struggling to reach that thanks to all the Dutch players, but now with Sneijder and Robben going for around 40m, his financial plan may actually work

But of course, it's tipped the balance away from the football project, because as Torrente said, they've sold one of their most impressive players from the pre-season, and also the only pure winger in the squad, someone who could really come on, stretch the field of play, and cause "disequilibrium" in the opposition.

I must also admit the squad starts to look thinner now. Who would provide cover for Ramos if Torres goes?

what happens if Robben outshines Ribery? Will Real drop their interest in the Frenchman and try to resign Robben?

we have görlitz and lell as rightback, and lahm is shit in that position

This is a stupid move. FFS Perez et Valdano should listen to the coach. Did they even watch the preseason games?

Couldn't believe this wasn't discussed in the RM thread then I saw this. Quite a stupid move if true, which it looks like it is. We need a player with his pace and dribbling. Ok he's a bit greedy sometimes but when is fit he is still the best out-and-out winger in the game for me. Very big mistake IMO. Of all the dutchies if you told me by the end of summer we'd only be left with Drenthe, VDV, and RVN I would have laughed in your face.

The only explanation I can think of is that Ribery will be signed this transfer window, otherwise it has to be one of the dumbest pieces of business ever made. If Ribery is signed for about 40 million, then it's not such a bad move given that he's more of a Pellegrini type of player and doesn't get injured as often.
