I hope Terry never plays for England, Capello is better off without him. As a player he has improved but would anyone really want him in there team.....Maybe Kimbo for Newcastle..

He is obviously a big character and has unlimited determination, he can pass a ball alright, but his mobility and pace makes him not very adaptable to change of formation and recovery hence why he plays so deep with a screening player in front, and has only really thrived since Makelele has come to the club and subsequent similar players.
For what he is, he is superb, but in the greater scheme of things, i'd prefer somebody else next to Rio for England, if Vidic is the mould of player required to partner Rio successfully, providing you can get the mentality somebody like Curtis Davies is not such an absurd proposition.

England are becoming weak at Center Back.. I wonder If Richards will be able to step up next year and play there. I would rather be weak at right back than in the middle.

If Rio was as $h!t as you say, he was as much of a hindrance to Man Utd's win as Baresi was to Milan (and Italy) in 1994 - after all, the only reason they were able to put on that masterclass against Barcelona was because he was suspended, and that meant certain players were free of their no.1 job of covering for his slow, tiny, physically weak arse.
Not a mistake by Nesta. Looks like you've ended up with egg on your face!

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits
he could see Edwin van der Sar smiling as he saved Nicolas Anelka's
spotkick to win the Champions League.
Fergie said: "I watched the penalties again last night. When Edwin went to save, halfway across he knew he had won it."He was smiling, you could actually see him. That was good."Edwin was pretty emotional. For players like
him, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, players who might relish it more than
others because time, Mr Sandman, is catching up with them."The young ones think it's going to happen every year but it's not the case and we made the point to them."

I couldn't be bothered to read it but I imagine it contained the usal diatribe from the usaul ABUs.
Great game and I thought we deserved to win it based on our wonderful first half performance. If Tevez could could finish a chocolate bar, the game would have been over by half time.
Credit to Chelsea as they played very well in the second half, even though they were very lucky to be still in the game at that point.
It's a pity that we didn't win the game in normal time, but I guess not even the biggest purest can complain about how you win the CL.
I think we have proved over the past 2 years that we're the best team in Europe and I'm delighted that we have some silverware to back the claim up.
Next year should be interesting as no team has ever retained the CL and the prem teams surely won't be able to dominate the CL for the third year running.

I know. Sky commentators are such cocks, they went on and on about how absolutely brilliant the match was all the way through. IMO it only got interesting after Drogba got sent off.
Yet Schmeichel just claimed that Cl football has defo gotten better this year as a whole.
Super Mourinho has changed his tune.

I just watched this full match. Scholes was 33 then, the same age as Xavi now and it's clear Scholes is massively overrated. He was never anywhere near as good as the likes of Xavi or Iniesta, it's a load of bullshit dogma that is only spouted by the media and Man United fans. The overrated c**t was anonymous and got took of around the 65 minute mark as the Chelsea midfielders where just bursting past him as he was too slow and immobile to defend properly. I have never seen him control a game like Xavi against decent opposition, probably because his technique is not even nearly as good as Xavis and he is not as intelligent. He was good but nowhere near the level of being a great midfielder.
That was when Chelsea had a excellent midfield though, that's why the dominated the game. Makelele, prime Essien, Ballack, Lampard. Much better than the shite they have now.

I've watched reruns of the Spurs V AC Milan games recently. Zlatan was dogshit.
Who is it you blow off on a regular basis again?

True, but then again nobody says Zlatan was as good as Luis Ronaldo or Pele. But seriously, I am not just judging Scholes off one game. Xavi is miles ahead of Scholes as a footballer, he's literally better at everything apart from long distance shooting. I doubt anybody outside of England would even compare Scholes with Xavi.

Wasn't 33 year old Xavi in the Barcelona midfields recently battered by Bayern Munich and Real Madrid (CDR)? What point are you trying to make worms - that 33 year old midfielders find it difficult to dominate against the best midfields?

Xavi was battered? No. Tito was battered tactically. Xavi still played better than Scholes did. By the way we still have the best midfield. Busquets - Iniesta and Xavi are better than anything anybody else can conjure up.

Tito adopted the same tactics you see in every game for Barca (we regularly hear from Barca players and TV pundits that they can "only play one way"). Your midfield was battered. Apart from the 2nd leg against Milan, Xavi had nowhere near the level of dominance in the CL Knockout Round that he has enjoyed in the previous 4-5 seasons. That's to be expected though - like Scholes in '08 (I see you chose to overlook his goal against Barca when you mentioned his technical ability by the way), he is coming towards the end of a long and fantastic career.
PS. Scholes' passing ability is still as good as anyone you will find. Not only is he as accurate as the Barcelona midfielders you constantly wank over, he does it by playing 40 yards through the air. Infinitely more difficult, than the 10 yard passes along the ground that you see from somebody like Busquets
