I used to say the opposite, but at the moment I'm wholehartedly agreeing.

Playing minnows (and us playing badly at that)...bleh.

Clubfootball on the other hand : the EPL is very exciting at the moment, so is our own Eredivise....and I'm also enjoying the Bundlesiga.

So yes, I'm agreeing with Parks (Parky ?) : bring on clubfootball !!!

I used to be country first my whole life, but since the last qualifyers, I'm all about the clubs.

Its a definite turn off, knowing that the most competitive opponent you'll face in the coming two years is Romania. No matter who we'll play in the friendlies.
Besides if we play one more game like we did on saturday, I couldn't care less anymore whether we qualified or not (not like that is going to happen in this group though...). I've had enough of San Marco's ugly & shitty football.

I just want the leagues to get a proper start and a number of games under the belt already. I couldn't care less about the minnows we face - for which the leagues were halted for a meagre week into the season. Doh No

There's just been so much football recently...I think thats why they're so boring. All we did for about 1 month was constantly watch and then discuss international football....its bound to get a bit dull.

Ow, yes you are right! I'm not saying we beat a world Class Ireland side. It was a poor side. But, the game was great to watch!!!!

And, COTR I hope you have a lot more faith in your Ireland than this... That second team of Ireland was still 10 times better than those semi-pro's from Luxembourg!

I quite like them in general.

France v Italy and Slovakia v Czech Rep look like interesting fixtures.

I enjoyed highlights of Georgia v France and Poland v Finland.

Henry probably thought it was his chance to be main man for les bleus now that Zidane's gone - Ribery made him think again !

The performances of Dudek Laughing and Litmanen ok were very entertaining in the latter fixture.

Biggrin . was only a minor lie ricardo...a mere small play on the truth Wink... wasn't that that wonderful thread when u were arguing wales, scotland and northern ireland were not countries in their own right

our manager lawrie sanchez was hitting out at all the press hype and false expectations yesterday... people here actually thought we had a great chance of qualifying... funny stuff..

    @COTR

I have to say I saw a part of that game against Finland in an Irish pub because I thought Ireland-Holland started at 7:30 CET but it was 7:30 English time...Doh...

I was impressed by the result. Finland are a quite decent side! <Ale> But then no reason for an hype campaign of course... scratch

You were right. It was in the thread where I started a promotion campaign for a UK (or a GB) football team because then you play as one country instead of 4 (or 3) separate entities... Wink Wink Wink Wink
