In Holland it's getting insane. Everyone, who played for Holland as of 1984, bar Berry van Aerle- who became a postman- & a few who became pundits, became manager. Even the ones you don't expect it of, like say Kluivert (he's going to do the certification). Wonder what it's like in your country. Are there many players going on in management? Should it stimulated by the FA? The Dutch FA did. I'm happy with it despite it being hard seeing great players fail as a manager, for example Gullit.

Re: Internationals becoming manager
from the England world cup 1990 squad... the only ones with much of a managerial careers that I can think of are Pearce, Robson, Mark Wright, Steve McMahon, Butcher, Platt, Barnes...and none of them a particular success.
Going back to 82 though, that squad had Hoddle, Keegan, Reid, Francis, Coppell...a more successful batch. Plus Brooking, whose very powerful in English football these days.
But really, going into TV is most popular for famous ex-players. easier, less stressful, and probably better paid.

Roberto Sensini
Diego Simeone...This one will go far IMO. Despite his current situation at River, where he has been betrayed by the most unstable sports institution and it's players in the country, I think he will end up being coach for Argentina.

Charles Gyamfi was pretty good in Ghana. Shehata in Egypt and for some reason everyone seems to forget that Maradona went into management too. Ferenc Puskas, Nandor Hidgekuti (sp) and Alfredo di Stefano always get left out of such debates, but were at least decent.

Re: Internationals becoming manager
You can add Matthaus, Kilnsmann and Vogts too. Sammer briefly too - still in German set up. Beckenbauer, Hoeness and Rummenigge as well. What happened to Netzer. Did he ever go into management, etc. Cruijff and Krol from days gone by in Dutch football too. An interesting aside would be crappy players who became managers.

Netzer became sporting director at HSV later on. Under his reign, HSV signed Ernst Happel, and won the European Cup in 1983, the most successful era of the club. He later started his own company which deals with TV rights (football).
