    what a game

Shocked Evil or Very Mad cheers

many of you won't know anything about the history of that tie

    in Austria, it means EVERYTHING

Germany to the Austrians is what Germany and Argentina, rolled into one, are to the English

in fact, everything in Austrian football leads back to CORDOBA

at the 1978 World Cup, reigning World Champs Germany met their Teutonic brothers from Austria and got tripped up

    in other words

little AUSTRIA eliminated World Champs Germany, their big brother, in Cordoba

    Shocked Shocked Shocked

since then CORDOBA has become the symbol for Austrian football brilliance

and to this day, Austrian football is still celebrating 1978

anybody involved in the battle of CORDOBA is a national LEGEND in Austria, pretty much like the heroes of Wembley in England

and THAT could be a big challenge for the Germans

the Austrian players know that IF they defeat Germany, not only will they qualify for the next round, but more importantly, they will create another CORDOBA, they will become LEGENDS for the rest of their lives as well

this is not a football match; this is a battle of mythical proportions to the Oesis

on Monday, we could very well see the most physical match of the entire European Cup

    think about it

shall we hype up a match between the worst side in the competition and the pre-tournament favourites?

    nah

    think about it

    Question

Add to that to Austrians have a manager who takes of his captain Ivanschitz, the only decent player in his squad. Also happens to have a great freekick. Last player, he should have taken off.

Anyway as long as you don't pull their shirts, or foul them in the box, you should be fine. They never looked like scoring to me.

I'll play both of your strikers in my FF team & make 1 captain.

Well, wasnt South Korea like 1000th on the ranking but still they advanced to the semis.
Austrians are a bit similar, as they can run and fight all the way without actually playing football.

    of course, we are better

    but that's not the point

the Mannschaft has to be careful about four things

    a) NOT to concede the first (freak) goal

Austria could then park the bus and we all know how difficult it is to score against 11 men

    b) the Mannschaft has to WRAP up the game with time in hand

you don't want to have a draw until the 85th minute and then concede a stupid goal, from which you cannot get back

    c) please, no injuries or yellow cards for the likes of Ballack, Klose and Poldi

    d) please, let Metze get a RED CARD: enough is enough

Germany are 1/33 ON FAVOURITE to finish 2nd.

    makes a lot of sense

Austria are 9/1. Still only a nutter would bet on them.

In one thread you say Austria have crappy players, in another you're afraid of them. Rolling Eyes

The truth is that with all your scheming and planning you did everything to get poor rivals. Storming through qualifiers just to finish second out of the blue Suspect

Think about it once again Sleep
