Your teams mental fortitude has moved on but you cannot see it. If you look back on history the very best players now I am taking about the elite Pele, Maradona, their own persona was one flowing act (your whole football system creates this in your players today). Fortitude does not come into it.

The German teams in the past had not reacted this point they had a belief which pushed them past the finish line and at the same time give everyone a blow job because you were really not that good.

Today Germany can push on and do what Brazil accomplished in their top years and truly master the sport but if you think reverting back to older beliefs will make this happen your using wasted mental energy over versatile creativity and you stagnate again.

And you heard it hear first. cheers

    brian

we are a lot more in sync than you would like to

    BELIEVE

we now have the players at our disposal that can bully teams FOOTBALLWISE rather than merely MENTALLY

and THAT is a GOOD thing

(which, incidentally, has NOTHING to do with LÖW)

    so by all means

let them OUTPLAY their opponents with STYLE

why would I be against that ?

don't you believe the blut-nonsense that the Löw-opponents are old-fashioned dogmatists

in fact, trawl through the various WC threads and see that blut and the other Germans on there

were driven out of their minds over Löw's endless mistakes

the 7:1 + the title temporarily flushed their minds

blut is still on the sugar high that the title win caused

he's a bit hysterical, like a high-strung neurotic woman who loses her mind because she cannot find her lipstick before the crucial job interview

only for a helpful man next to her suggesting she should look in her hand-bag

where invariably the lipstick is promtly found

upon  discovery of the lifesaving war-paint

she immediately goes down on her knees

declares the man to be a genius

starts to cry tears of joy

    and pledges

    to become his sex-slave

until Werder Bremen become Bundesliga champions again

    the wahre Geschichte is this

Germany now has stylish game-winners galore

    and that is BRILLIANT

but there will be MANY games in the future where we STILL need mental fortitude

    WINNERS

that put in a Schweini vs Argentina performance

    and let's face it

Schweini has not always played like that

and Müller, Reus Hummels and Neuer

cannot always win games on their own (Klose is about to retire anyway)

the FINAL is a case in point

all those SUPER-EAGLES did NOT outplay Argentina over 120 AT ALL

we did not even have MORE chances to win

    Beckenbauer commented after the final

"it would have been a VERY different game had Argentina had one day more rest (like Germany) and not played extra-time against the Dutch in the QF"

and Messi was on the money when he said it would have been a TOTALLY different game had they scored FIRST

    and BOOM

Germany have LOST YET another chance of adding a star

the glorious Brazilians, Dutch..., the golden-generations of the style kings (Figo and Co), more often than not

    did NOT win any titles

remind me how many titles Maradona won or Cruijff

Sammer, when in charge of the DFB youth set up, said that every team needed three kinds of players

creative individuals (Özil, Messi...), leaders ( Schweini now, Ballack, Pirlo...) and team-players/water-carriers

and that is as true as it always was

everybody who has a star is a WINNER

    agreed

(just like everybody who has a German passport is a

some are winners because they genuinely added something to the equation

    others

because they were riding Müller and Co's coattails

Lahm, for instance, hardly had a good World Cup, me thinks

his midfield performances made him one of our weakest players

feel free to grade him game by game, blut

surely not even you would claim otherwise

and Löw's contribution to winning that star is not clear to me

    EITHER

"overcoming his own stubbornness" does not constitute a WORLD CLASS performance, me thinks

will be interesting to see whether Lahm's overdue retirement will encourage other veterans to do the same

Lahm didn't have a good world cup? He was voted in the official XI by FIFA for the third time in a row (2006, 2010 and 2014), unprecedented in history! He was one of the four German players nominated for the golden ball!

Maybe you should open your eyes to reality once in a while and take off those highly ideological googles. It's really embarrassing.

    I repeat

    rate Lahm GAME by GAME

when your sugar levels are low

ratings by journalists are notoriously iffy

but Kicker actually tries harder than others not to get carried away

    here are their grades

    http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/wm/wmteams/weltmeisterschaft/2014/deutschland/26870/spieler_philipp-lahm.html

    trawl down slightly

Lahm gets top marks (like virtually everybody) against Brazil

    +

    Argentina

    the rest: meh

and that's precisely how Sportbild and all the others saw it, and they are firmly in the Lahm camp

it helps to get those rosetinted "they are all World Champs, therefore, brilliant"-glasses off

if you really care for FIFA teams, God help Germany

Post by blutgraetsche Sun Jul 20, 2014 11:36 am

Lahm had a very good game in central midfield against Portugal, a mediocre one there against Ghana (mostly let down by his partner Khedira in that match), a good game against USA in central midfiield (Germany totally controlled the match and didn't allow USA a single chance, thanks to Lahm in particular), a bad first half against Algeria playing in central midfield (like the rest of the team) and a very good one on the RB position afterwards. As RB, he had a very good match against France and two truly outstanding matches against Brazil and Argentina when it counted most. He was without a doubt one of our best and most consistent players. This has nothing to do with "sugar levels", this is a clear fact.

Lahm is "the most intelligent player he has ever worked with" according to Guardiola, the reason why he can play so many positions almost seamlessly. Without Lahm, and that's absolutely not negotiable, Germany would not have won the WC. Thanks to him, Löw had the time to let Schweinsteiger and Khedira gain the necessary fitness for the latter stages - we could not play both in the beginning of the tournament because both were totally lacking match fitness! Lahm solved that problem.

Replacing him, the best fullback in the game for a decade, is going to be a huge task for Löw, especially since we do lack quality alternatives on that position in Germany. If you seriously believe that Germany are better off without him, you're deluded. It'll take years to compensate that loss.

    Otto
Any kind of bullying at any level is going you blow your dreams of being the master footballers of the planet so far out of bounds your will lose the plot. You will need to learn this from the Canadian mentality and apply it to your sports to really excel.

Never said I was a fan of Low he had some luck that goes with winning and made some history without trying to be a Brian Clough in your face kind of guy.

Now these other reasons for not winning cups earlier is another perfect example of you just not getting the picture.

If you blasted out of the turn stalls in 2006 won the WC there is a very good chance you would of done  catastrophic Zero Rooney on a national level.........    Humans have much in common with germs we tend to work out the cause and effect in life then rapidly change up our game plan. Other sides would of taken up the challenge become even more competitive.

Your football coaching system needed the time to grow. You do not want bolted vegetables believe me they are stunted in every way...... Cool

The road now is clearer with less dutch caravans in the way to slow your progress you will have a better chance staying at the top longer because of the course taken.

Warning::::   The antibiotics prescribed to your National team do come with a time limit the window of greatness can be shut if the old guard or Zero Rooney bacteria is allow to fester.

    interesting question

why do the top clubs shell out fortunes for foreigners , when German World Champs cost a pittance ?

Fat Ronaldo called Kroos the "Player of the Tournament"

then why did he go for less than 30 million

when somebody like Falcao was FAR MORE expensive ?

wasn't that due to Kroos only having 1 year left on contract - contract length is a huge determinant in transfer prices. plus goalscorers always have a bigger premium than midfielders.

yes, 1 year left on the contract

    BUT

he is a creative, attacking midfielder with the best years ahead of him

players like that go for a lot more

Metzelder thinks the hype around James is FAR bigger for marketing reasons (in South America)

    not sure though

German players simply do not generate the same hype and excitement as others in the foreign media

their introverted personality usually does not help

    --------------

Müller now says he could have earned SILLY money abroad

but preferred to get an improved contract in Munich

I think the 7:1 was worth nearly as much as winning the cup  Biggrin Its not often you get really suprised by football these days. It was an event of enormous propotions.

7-1? Great, because it was on Brazilian soil against Brazil. But I'd swap it in a instant with 7 x 1-0 vs. Italy... Very Happy

That's the one huge gaping hole in our record. It needs to be fixed. Whoever manages to do so becomes an instant legend.
