This story appears to say nothing which was not previously common knowledge?

Re: MSI linked with West Ham bid
"Kia Joorabchian wishes to clarify that he has not ruled out the option of making a bid for West Ham United.
"There can be no certainty that an offer will be made nor as to the terms on which any such offer might be made."
What exactly does this say? That he may or may not make a bid! It's totally meaningless!

Re: MSI linked with West Ham bid
It's a no-f**king news day is my point.
"The BBC interrupt this programme to bring you a newsflash.
Someone has said that they may do something, or then again they may not.
The FTSE dropped 1000 points in reaction to this bombshell.'

Re: MSI linked with West Ham bid
I'm curious about this...who do all these football clubs(Aston Villa, Portsmouth, Chelsea, West Ham(?) ) belong to? its members? or have they big owners like Man Utd with those irish, scotish(?) guys?

Re: MSI linked with West Ham bid
Chelsea - Roman Abrahmovic (Russia) who is an oilgarch. (Summer 2003)
Man Utd - Malcolm Glazier (USA) who is a businessman. (Summer 2005)
Aston Villa - Randy Lerner (USA) who is a successful Businessman. (Summer 2006)
Portsmouth - Alexandre Gaydamak (France) who has a 50% stake and Milan Mandaric (Croatia) (Spring 2006)
West Ham - Still owned by Terrance Brown (England), but future is unknown as a Iran businessman has expressed an interest in the club. (Maybe in the near future)

Re: MSI linked with West Ham bid
crap, what I tried to ask was, when was it that these clubs ended being owned by it's members and started to be a one owner institution?

Re: MSI linked with West Ham bid
Well, some clubs have had owners since the 19th century, in fact all clubs are run usually by one man - the Chairman.
Some clubs aren't run by a rich person though and have to get by using wheeling and dealing, others have a 'sugar daddy' though that means they don't have to run for profit
