If Sibon would have taken all the freekicks that De Guzman & Emanuelson took, we would already have been qualified.

    Full time: Blgium 2 - 0 China

Thoroughly deserved, if only due to the stupidity of the Chinese. Two red straght red cards, one of which was one of the worst challenges i've ever seen. studs up around waste height right in front of the referee.

MOTM for me was Dembele, although Vermaelon played well.

Sorry, haven't got a fucking clue.

    Holland line-up:

    Vermeer, Zuiverloon, Marcellis, Jaliens, Emanuelson
De Guzman, Maduro, Bakkel, Drenthe, Beerens, Babel.

    Phew! No Sibon. cheers

If they play 4-2-3-1 with Maduro & Drenthe as DMF it actually makes sense. Apart from Luijckx not playing in stead of Maduro.

Victor Oinna is the same person as Nsofor Obinna, and he is a Nigerian international striker, so I'm guessing it must be him, as don't know any other Obinnas who are Nigerian internationals.

He has a loser head but he saved Oranje from a HUGE desaster against the mighty USA...

in the dying seconds he scored 2-2 from a free kick (under the wall straight on the goal)

    Biggrin

Thats the same player owned by Inter, Victor Nsofor Obinna.

Thanks Bluey: eventually sussed that. Who does he play for now? He was at Chievo in2006-07, but left them after they got relegated.

For most part, Italy have sent their U21 team, with a few recent ex-members of that outfit.... the only overage player is Rocchi.

They are doing quite well, both games won by 3-0.

Belgium defender Vincent Kompany is to defy his club Hamburg and stay with the Olympic team instead of preparing for the Bundesliga, the Belgian federation has announced. Kompany is the first player at the Games to move against a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport last week, which said that clubs have a right to call their stars back from China. The fans are gonna love you sunshine.

Cut price Kompany anyone? I'd certainly take him.

Oh, she's around. Smile I spoke to her on the phone last night. She just thinks that since there's nothing to talk about, she doesn't feel the need to post or take part in the discussions.

I think that'll change once the league has kicked off this coming weekend.

I think Axe means more that he is often injured, and from what I remember took time off to rest last season because he wasn't playing particularly well. Although he has always played pretty well when I've watched Hamburg play.

Blut and Otto said throughout the Euros that they would leave afterwards because of work and other commitments, and hopefully the others will start to post a bit more once the season starts again.

What I meant was that often when I saw him he made mistakes that cost HSV.

Also HSV needs him against Bayern, they pay him a handsome salary ffs, but he just ignores them and stays in China.

I don't know about you guys, but if I'd try to pull a stunt like that at my work I'd get sued....and new employers wouldn't be lining up....

I don't know... Lesley was saying she stumbled over a post by chrissi on the official Werder message board (an actual post, not just an article or a link to an article Wink She was quite surprised), so he's still around... And should return soon, the season is starting, someone has to organise the prediction challenge. Wink

As for the rest... No idea.
