And i'd expect Citeh to sign Ronaldo (Brazilian) one too now that you've signed Robinho.

Re: Man City 08/09
City directors are a little bit naive. Robinho acted in the most selfish, unprofessional and unloyal manner towards Santos and Madrid. Why do they believe that Robinho won't behave like that again?
If he flops, he will put the blame on the coach, his teammates and the EPL style. If he succeeds and a big club make a big offer, he will do everything he can to move. "I need to play in the UCL, Manchester's weather sucks, I can't speak english, blah, blah, blah"

No , inconsistent yes but at times he was the only player for RM that could win them a game (expect Ruud with his goals and Cas with his saves you know what I am saying though) but he will find EPL hard to adjust.

Re: Man City 08/09
The Guardian with a nice measured article:
Manchester City plan £135m bid for Cristiano Ronaldo
· Abu Dhabi group also targets Torres and Fábregas
· 'Why not? We are going to be the biggest club in the world'
Manchester City's new billionaire owners are planning a world-record £135m bid for Cristiano Ronaldo in the January transfer window before turning their sights to, among others, Fernando Torres of Liverpool and Cesc Fábregas of Arsenal. "Ronaldo has said he wants to play for the biggest club in the world, so we will see in January if he is serious," said Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim, of the Abu Dhabi United Group.
Al-Fahim also re-iterated that he would investigate the potential availability of the former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry, Valencia's David Villa and the former Brazil international Ronaldo to join Robinho in a "dream team" that would be able to challenge for the Champions League within two or three years.
However, he identified United's Ronaldo as the biggest challenge for the billionaire tycoons, backed by members of the United Arab Emirates royal family, who have taken control of the club from Thaksin Shinawatra. "Real Madrid were estimating his value at $160m (£90m) but for a player like that, to actually get him, will cost a lot more; I would think $240m (£135m). But why not? We are going to be the biggest club in the world, bigger than both Real Madrid and Manchester United."
In all probability, City's chances of persuading Ronaldo to forget about moving to Real Madrid and decide instead to swap Old Trafford for Eastlands - or 'Middle Eastlands', as some City fans have started referring to it - are, at best, miniscule. Yet City's remarkable signing of Robinho from Real Madrid, for a British record £32.5m, just before Sunday's transfer deadline has already sent shockwaves through the sport, and Al-Fahim insisted the club would be willing to pay United three times the world transfer record, set in 2001 when Zinedine Zidane moved from Juventus to Real Madrid. "We want a team who can win the Champions League," he added.
Al-Fahim also confirmed that Torres and Fábregas were among his targets as City look to bring in a "minimum 18" players. "We're not just going to spend money on anyone, but if we can get the biggest players in the world, and of course if the manager wants them, then we will get them," he said.
Robinho arrived in London on Tuesday for a brief meeting with Mark Hughes to conclude the transfer - even though he has yet to take the usually routine medical examination - before flying out to join up with the Brazil national squad for Monday's World Cup qualifier against Chile. The 24-year-old has agreed a four-year contract that makes him the highest-paid footballer in the history of the game, with a weekly salary of £160,000.
Ronaldo could conceivably be offered twice that amount but it could also be argued that City's pursuit of the twice footballer-of-the-year also demonstrates a degree of naivety on the part of the new owners. United's reaction was one of bemusement, a spokesman saying "we have made it clear all summer that Cristiano is not for sale".

I think Gray is a panic buy as we didn't have left footed wide player in the squad. Though why Hodgson let Bouazza and Cook go I don't know. Cook by all reports was decent in pre-season. I guess he was looking for someone else, there was talk of Plasil.

TBH i think our new owner is just sending out a statement of intent in talking about Ronaldo. TBH i dont think we will go for him. Well its all up to Hughes but i dont think we will get Cesc, Ronaldo or Gerrard i dont think they would come. We will bring in big names but not those.

Re: Man City 08/09
Robinho says that City’s exciting plans for the future helped him decide to make his dramatic deadline-day move to the City of Manchester Stadium.
The Brazilian star has spoken exclusively to mcfc.co.uk today after meeting manager Mark Hughes, and he says that he wants to help the Blues win the Premier League title.
The 24-year-old met with Hughes in London before flying to South America for Brazil’s 2010 World Cup qualifiers in Santiago and Rio de Janeiro, and when asked why he chose to leave Real Madrid and sign for City he said,
“I knew that Manchester City is a very big club, there’s a great team there already and this is an exciting project. I liked the project, and when City made the offer to Real Madrid, I decided to come here. I liked the plans that Manchester City have and I want to succeed with them.”
Tuesday has seen hundreds of City fans turn up at the City of Manchester Stadium, with replica shirts with ‘Robinho 10’ printed on them flying out of the CityStore. When told of the day’s excitement, Robinho replied:
“That makes me very, very happy, and I want to repay this excitement by performing on the pitch, and scoring a lot of goals for the fans.”
There are two familiar faces in the City squad for Robinho, with fellow internationals Jo and Elano already at the Club, something which he says helped him make his decision to come here.
“I play with Jo and Elano in our national team, they are my friends and I know them very well. Having such great players already at City was one of the reasons why I decided to come here.”
And his meeting with Mark Hughes in London today has gone well, with the former Santos star telling us:
“I met with the Manager today and it went very well, I know that he was a great player and I think that will be a big help to me. I want to help the Manager and the team to win the Premier League, that’s my ambition here.”

Hughes might be able to get the best out of him. He played in a relatively similar position to him so hopefully he can help Robinho to become a more effective player.

Yeah Boj and Benj are injured whilst Vas and Ceicedo will leave. Evans will prob go out on loan depending on how he does which leaves Jo, Robinho, Sturidge....and Elano if we need to play him there.
