Question !

Tonight Ryan McGivern makes his Northern Ireland debut against Scotland, yet he is only 18 and has not played a single second of first team football for his club Man City (yes we have another youngster coming through).

Can anyone else think of anyone who made their international debut before playing in a first team club game?

Its pretty crazy really, the lad has done well for the reserves and U18s but i cant believe he is already in the Northern Ireland National team.

There will be plenty. James Troisi playing for Australia springs to mind. I expect it happens quite alot with the small countries.

I guess with small countries just cant think of many.

Im really pleased for the lad, he is only 18 and its a great acheivement for him.

McGivern has been sent off for a second booking....well at least he made an impression !
