    yeh, agenda question. Wink

as far as I know, it happened in 1998 and 2006, and from now on it will probably happen every time.

in the first 3 titles, I guess all players played in Brazil, but I'm not sure about 58 and 62.

I remember in 1994 there were a lot of brasil based players.... I just checked, and you had 10 brasil based, 10 europe based, & 2 Japan based Question Icon_razz

In 2002, you had more brasil based players....

...yeah, I guess from now on it may happen most of the time - there are more and more brasilians playing in europe these days...

No, only Argentina remains, cause Euro teams can't win outside Europe. Laughing

Well, no WC in Africa yet, and the so called "EMEA" (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) region includes Africa. We'll basically have home tournament, according to the business people at least... Biggrin

    So what's the point Mongrel?

I don't know that it will make that great an impact. The current side is filled with European based players yet they seem a very solid unit that doesn't have any egos. So if this is where you are headed I don't agree. Also European football is just that much better nowadays so I think it works to Brazil's advantage.

But if we take a look at 1994 and 2002 Starting XIs, Brazil had more european based players

    Taffarel - Parma
    Jorginho - Bayern
    Leonardo - São Paulo
    Márcio Santos - Bordeaux
    Aldair - Roma
    Mauro Silva - Deportivo
    Dunga - Frankfurt
    Zinho - Palmeiras
    Mazinho - Palmeiras
    Bebeto - Deportivo
    Romário - Barcelona

Overall - 8 European based players

    Marcos - Palmeiras
    Lúcio - Leverkusen
    Roque Jr. - Milan
    Edmílson - Lyon
    Cafu - Roma
    Roberto Carlos - Real Madrid
Gilberto Silva - Atlético Mineiro aka biggest club in the world
    Kléberson - Atlético Paranaense
    Ronaldinho - PSG
    Rivaldo - Barça
    Ronaldo - Inter

Overall - 9 players based on Europe

So I don't think that changes anything at all.

Really convincing if you explicitly have to mention that they are "the biggest club in the world" Wink

But is Robinho being counted as a European-based player or local-based player?

That could tip the balance Ale
