I have wanted to watch the new Nigeria for some time now since they ditched that overrated german(Otto Razz ). Supposed to be a really good team now and I think they are the best hope for Africa along with the Ivory Coast. No point in asking about France but what was Nigeria like?

I saw them play the Republic of Ireland at Craven Cottage. They were well organised side, yet unbelievably their coach Shuaibu Amodu is under fire. There were calls for him to be sacked. Absolutely crazy. They deserve to fail to qualify for South Africa if they sack Amodu.

The first choice keeper is Austin Ejide and Vincent Enyeama is the second choice - lost his place last year, but not bad keeper. Amazing thing about Otto's mate is that the flops of ACN 2008 are largely same team that won every match in the first stage of qualification. Surely coaching has something to do with it.

I was at that game as well, Uche was excellent as was the right back. Leftback could've been sent off twice.

I would imagine Amodu having failed twice before when he had he job has had poor friendly results, drawing with Mozambique in a tough group that has Tunisia as well might have something to do with it. That was how it was explained to me by a Nigerian friend.

It's more to do with Nigerian mentality. Amodu has failed previously, but this time the set up is right. He has a good set up that utilises young coaching talent, such as Daniel Amokachi. Amodu did exceptionally well in the first phase of qualification. He took the Super-chickens as they were dubbed under Vogts and made them soar again. They became the class of African qualification - first phase. Egypt drew their opening match in Cairo as well. I haven't heard demands for Shehata's head though and if anyone is stupid enough to do so they deserve to be banned from attending football matches until they grow some brain cells. Nigeria needs stability; their media could bring down Amodu and that will be a pity. Judge him after his mission is completed. If he fails to take the Super-Eagles to South Africa then he has to go, but not now. Friendlies do not matter if there is reason to the selections. Nigeria did pretty well in this round of friendlies. Amodu deserves a proper chance. You'ld think that after the horrors of the previous regime they would understand just how much they owe to Amodu. Sacking him now would be crazy.

Sack Domenech before the total humiliation (not qualifying for the world cup). This team has no soul. I can't even bother watching a game. Apparently Domenech had the tactics wrong again, using a poor formation. I know that it was a friendly game, but players should at least try their best when they play for their country. Domenech should at least try to play with one defensive midfield player rather than two. They can't score ffs.

Spectators didn't respect the minute of silence and whistled each Lyon players. What a big bunch of c**ts.

Great start of Malouda. The best on the pitch at the moment.

Benzema scored a pen after a foul on Anelka. Turkey plays at 10 now.

Thought France have looked good in this second half. A very strange crowd I must say though because at one point they were going Ole! after a string of passing moves by France then 2-3 mins later they are booing France when they have the ball. Suspect

Perhaps the first shouts of ole! were sarcastic which would make sense.

That's the problem. There's never any stability with the Super Eagles. Many of the players have ego problems and are just motivated by money and because they play for a good club they don't feel the need to show up for the country.

The new batch of players coming in though seem much more determined and motivated. Amodu should definitely be given more of a chance but Nigeria always feel the need to venture abroad for a foreign coach, not sure why.

This team better qualify for the World Cup though or I'll be fuming Evil or Very Mad

Obasi does need to be the focus of the team though.

So no surprises in the squad list.

Diaby ahead of Vieira needs to be evaluated. Will he ever play? Just one thing though, don't ask him to defend set-pieces.

    Domenech will play this team:
    -----Mandanda
    Sagna--Gallas-Squillaci-Abidal
    ---------Lass-Toulalan
    -----------Gourcuff
    ----Ribery--------Henry
    -----------Benzema

Abidal at left is pointless. I'd really love Evra at LB, he is far better offensively.

    1. Poor selection of players
    2. Unimaginative football
    3. Redundant/static movement in the final third
    4. Sebastien Frey not playing the GK, in stead bank on young unreliable goalkeepers
    5. Abou Diaby
    6. Samir Nasri not played, in stead likes of Remy/Luyindula
    7. Finally the most important, Higuain not forced enough by Domenech and FFF, he is the kind of player who could be a good foil alongside Benzema. Also considering Henry is no more like a striker these days.

    Once again, unimaginative football...
