Well the French Association would have no choice but to sack him if they didn't qualify.

So we're more or less out. Super.

Firstly let me just say, the ref last night Ale

Lloris, 3 full matches and he's been absolutely suberb Ale

I thought we were excellent in the 1st half, really got stuck in from the off and passed it around decently.

Had a couple of very good chances, Lawrence's shot was deflected btw. Should have got a corner. Whelan should have scored too but no luck.

2nd half was bizzare. We never got going in the slightest. France slightly upped the tempo and effort. All equals up for their goal.

Trap bringing off Lawrence and Doyle, both being our best players was completely negatively retarded. Whelan or Andrews should have come off.

Draw would have been a fair result IMHO. At best we'll get a 0-0 on Wenesday.

Well done to France anyway ok

borocooper wrote:Dunno what people see in McGeady. Overrated.

He's got pace and can go past his man but is diobolical when it comes to end product. Very few Irish lads I know rate him. But compared to the rest of our team, he is the only one with geuine pace so he is kind of needed for us I feel.

    ok
Feel for you. I hate it when goals like that decide such games. I think McGeady should have started so at least there was some more danger on the counter. I won't completely rule you out just yet allthough it will take something special in Paris.

France will see this one through, Ireland depend on being difficult to break down, then try and nick a goal.

I can't imagine Ireland will score two in France.

Of course it is mate. But under the current management and squad minus Andy Reid as well, we'll need a huge slice of luck.

Set pieces are our best hope. Keane is capable of doing something.

But I just reckon you'll score and while we might get a goal we certainly won't get two.

We have Domenech and u have Trap, anything could happened. The Stade de France is not a plce we usually play well, and we've lost quite a few games this year. Who will score first might have a great advantage.

Aye. I just don't believe our squad let alone the management is resiliant enough to win if we were to score 1st and France then equalise.

FG got it pretty spot on.
"Ireland depend on being difficult to break down, then try and nick a goal."

I pray I'm wrong in everything I've said.

If Trap does his usual silly sit back and assess the other team for 45 mins routine I'm going to flip Laughing ok

Domenech puts his foot in it again

    http://www.thespoiler.co.uk/

Thanks to his possessing an incredible, almost slapstick, level of incompetence, Raymond Domenech doesn’t have a lot of friends amongst the footballing community. Especially in his own country. He could have even less today, after making a rather ill-judged faux pas during Friday’s pre-playoff press conference:

People can say what they want, when they want. I stopped listening to them a long time ago, otherwise I would have committed suicide.

Meanwhile, 45,000 turned out in support at Robert Enke’s memorial service over the weekend…

    Doh

Well not to put too much of a dampener on it, but this football blogger on World Cup betting reckons that it will be a scrappy, low scoring game, with Ireland lacking the players to catch France on the break. One thing is certain, Dunne, Given and Keane will have to play out of their skins. I can't see Ireland nicking it, so my money is on France.

The French medias asked Domenech if he was aware that this could be his last game in charge of France, despite that the team won 1-0 in Ireland. If we qualify, medias won't stop with that cuz they hate him so much. Trap is very confident Ireland can win at the Stade de France.
