Malouda's been great this season, he's definitely worth including. Same with Anelka, you know what you'll get from him.

Quite pleased for once by Domenech's list but it's kind of normal he took some new players since the team has been playing shitly.
Ciani, Rami, Cheyroux really deserved to be there, actually any players from Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon and Marseille clearly had to be called since they are doing well in Europe. Ciani, Bordeaux' defender can score goals as well (3 in 6 games) so he can be a plus.
Good to have Ben Arfa back, he is showing good signs since the winter break a bit like Marseille though that keep winning.

Saha deserved to be there because he's being doing well for Everton this year. I think it's normal Nasri and Clichy haven't been called, actually Abidal as well. I don't think Nasri has done much for Arsenal this year. Each time I watched him played I didn't see anything amazing, he just passes the ball well, rarely takes a shot, etc. Ben Arfa is way better in my opinion, he can create the danger and accelerate the tempo of the game, but still has too many ups and down. Glad Gignac is injured though otherwsie he would have been called and Saha might not have been there. Now I hope Saha can have his chance and do something great.

Cisse could have been called also, he is the best scorer in Greece and just scored three against Roma in the europa league.

It's going to be a tough game against Spain, which we kept beating for several years from 1998 to 2006, but the last time we played them they won 1-0 in Spain. When I see the players from this generation, this team reminds me the great team once France had. That is a great bunch of individualities (Iniesta, Xavi, Fabregas, Torres, Villa, etc) that can play well together.

I feel we are similar to Spain 4-6 years ago and they are like us when we won the world cup and euro.

Domenech has to change things because he has 60 million people against him (actually maybe 10 times more), he better keep the players that will show character against Spain and change the ones that didn't show anything. With Ribery (fit) France will be more dnagerous upfront.

For those among us who read French:
    http://www.lemonde.fr/sport/article/2010/03/01/le-bleu-et-le-noir_1312830_3242.html#xtor=EPR-32280274-%5BNL_Sport%5D-20100301-%5Btitres_principaux%5D

Quite an interesting article on the demographics of the French squad.

Saha is injured and didn't go after all. Cisse is his replacement.

Its' a good thing he's been called up. Now Domenech needs to give him some time to play to show what he can do. Anyway right now Cisse plays better than Henry and Benzema combined.

    Likely line up for France:
    LLoris-Evra-Escude-Ciani-Sagna-L.Diarra-Toulalan-Govou-Gourcuff-Anelka-Henry
With Domenech we don't change a losing team! Govou is useless, Henry as well.

Anyone knows the Spanish lin up?

According to Marca it will be: Casillas, Ramos, Puyol, Piqué, Arbeloa; Busquets, Xabi Alonso, Silva, Iniesta, Xavi; Villa

So a 4-5-1 with Torres protected, and Arbeloa (deservedly) getting a chance ahead of Capdevila. Still persisting with Busquets though Doh

Groucuff, Ribery, Malouda, Ben Arfa, Cheyrou - no problem there. in terms of creating chances.. Malouda has won over perennial haters like me, with his performance for Chelsea..

I think he's done pretty well...he's not world class but neither is Capdevila. Both can do a good job for Spain though, and in a friendly there's nothing wrong with trying someone new. I think Capdevila will still be 1st choice in the World Cup.

Capdevila is getting old. Struggles against the ever omnipresent pacy wingers. Arbeloa is a better bet at the moment.

Who's c0ck is Busquets sucking on to get in to the Spain XI????????

Arbeloa is certainly better defensively than Capdevila though Capdevila, being naturally left footed, will always seem more comfortable going forward.

Both Capdevila and Senna are there purely based on the Eurocopa imo because both have been rather poor this season (though Senna has started looking a little better recently).
