Yep, the San Marino team that is 4 places higher than Luxembourg in the Fifa ranking. The team you struggled to beat a few days ago (1:0).

Yep, exactly the same ranking. Doesn't mean that your lot will stand a chance against us though.
But if you need a direct comparison: We thrashed Luxembourg 7:0 just a few weeks before the WC.

13:0 final score. That's a new record for Germany in the qualification (old record: 9:1 in 1934).

IMO we didn't even deserve to win. They should have just turned the floodlights off, and left the guys in the dark.
Today, the stadium at home hasn't even sold out for the first time I can ever remember.

You better get used to this, because the German youngsters coming through are at least as good as the current players. The German U21 thrashed Romania, definitely not a bad team, 5:1 just recently.

Re: Germans are on fire!
Well, we thrashed Saudi Arabia 8:0 in the 2002 WC, with a much more defensive side back then. Thrashings like these are here to stay, no matter if there are any changes to the qualification or not.

so you hope a thrashing of san marino silences whoever criticised you for saying germany were not the best team in the world (do you not remember italy outplaying them )....

Well, scoring that many goals helps us in the qualification, since I don't expect San Marino to concede double digits against the other sides in our group as well.

The KNVB should give us a match against you as soon as possible. For a long time you would be favourites again. In these games we can test if this new Dutch team is really good enough. A frienldy against Ireland will not...

Re: Germans are on fire!
Remember that we have quite a few injuries to take care of these days, especially in the defence. I expect us to be at full strenght in october (hopefully), when the next EC qualification round is taking place. That will be necessary, since beating the Czechs and Slovaks will not be easy.
The problem is that our U21 team looks great these days. Problem, because I really would like to see Löw testing a couple of those youngsters in the Mannschaft.
You Dutchies seem to have a few problems these days, no fun in beating you.
I rather beat you at the EC, when you hopefully have sorted out your problems, and don't have any excuses left. Well, forget the last sentence, you will always find excuses for a defeat against the Duitsen.
We have to settle the score with all of the major European footballing nations really, and EC 2008 is the perfect opportunity for that.

Re: Germans are on fire!
Give me a break ppl. San Marino!...they have 77 official games including this last one against Germany. They won 1, tied 3 and lost 73 of them. They have recieved a total of 325 goals in 77 games wich gives more than 4 goals recieved per game and have scored only 14( 0.18 goals per game)...real tough oposition
