Nobody questioned them being a poor team. Still, you have to score 13 goals in a European qualification match first.

Blut man, Don't get me wrong I really rate Germany, and I have a lot of respect for their team. In fact they were my bet for this WC, and consideirng how young your talented players are the future looks very scary(for most of the other teams of course). But clearly european qualification matches aren't tough.

This match definitely wasn't tough, of course. And the result doesn't mean much either, we just did as expected, winning clearly - nothing else would have been acceptable really. I didn't expect us to score that many goals though, but that will only help us in the qualification.

And our group isn't really easy to be honest. The Czechs, Slovaks, Irish and even Welsh all have good teams, they are no walk in the park at least. And if you look at the other qualification groups, you can't really say that EC qualification is easy. Germany always qualifies for major tournaments, but this doesn't mean that it's easy in Europe. Ask the English, the Dutch and others... Wink

That’s what I like about you Germans. Three months ago you thought you were down the drain. And now? It’s like a Phoenix risen from the asses.
    Germany thinks its unbeatable again!!!

That’s why we need a match against you, cause MVb will be forced to bring HOLLAND`s best XI, not his best XI.

You guys will bring the best out of us, and if we got crushed by you lot. Mvb should be sacked.. So its a win-win situation..

Teams like San Marino and Andorra should be thrown out. They're not improving and it's a waste of time. All they do is park the bus and try and hold out for as long as they can. Pointless. ok

Of course this match - like so many - was silly. They should really get rid of these little teams. Let them play some play-offs against each other first and then one or two can join the bigger countries in the qualifying matches.

The FIFA rankings are a joke in every regard. It would be nice if people could just stop mentioning them.

Germany have a good team and a bright future if they do the right things. For me that would include losing some of the current players and bringing more fresh blood in. (For example: Asamoah, Hitzlsperger out. Hinkel, Kiessling, Trochowski in.)

The important matches are still to come. Wales, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Ireland away will be hard work. Those are the matches you have to win to qualify.

Hehe. I was optimistic before the WC, just read my postings on the old board. I knew that our team had potential, I knew that we had (and have) quality players. Nothing changed for me.

But nobody in their right mind thinks that we are 'unbeatable' now, I just tried to wind you up a bit. We still have a long way to go, but I'd be lying to myself if I said that we don't have a good chance to win the EC 2008.

Friendlies are no fun, I want to beat you at a major competition again. And the English, especially the English....

I really like Trochowski, he's almost certain to become my favourite German player of the coming years.

...oh and of course we Dutchies will keep on pushing Cziommer (because he deserves it).

The U21 team simply need Trochowski and Kießling, that's the problem, like explained earlier. I expect them, and hopefully Polanski, Rolfes and others as well, to be tested by Löw next year earliest.

Hinkel really should get a chance though. Potentially, he is our best RB (if Lahm plays LB), hope he will continue to improve at Sevilla.

Axe, if Cziommer continues like this, he may get a chance sooner or later.

Well Germany at the Euros are not always a big hit lately. And the number three on a WC, havent qualified for the Euros since 1982...

So the odds are against you Wink

Nahh i think you will win your group easily, the Czech are not that great anymore. And with an average of 7 goals in a qualifier, you will crush them Shocked

The Czechs spanked the strong Slovaks 3:0 today, so you can't write them off just yet. It's true that they are in a transition period, but they still have quality players like Rosicky, who is their captain now.

No other country has a such a good record at the EC, we have won it more often than anyone else, we have been to the final more often than anyone else. That's why 2000 and 2004 were especially disappointing, a disgrace, so our team will be extra motivated to set things straight in 2008.
