A draw would be more fair, not that I mind a Madrid win though.

Great and fun game to watch, which ended basically eliminating Zenit from CL competition IMHO.
Like somebody said earlier, 5-5 would be a right score Smile.

    Excellent win cheers

It was all Zenit in the last 15 minutes, but before that we were clearly the better team. Javi Garcia coming on for VDV was a gamble that luckily paid off, but VDV did look tired and there's no Guti/Gago/Sneijder at the moment. De la Red didn't do a good job once he was given a more offensive position.

Hopefully, this will also mean the beginning of the end for Raul in the starting 11. Higuain was ineffective in front of goal, but I still thought he had a very good game. His dribbling has improved a lot and his movement caused Zenit all sorts of trouble.

It was really a game were teams dominated in stages. We dominated the first 15 minutes, Zenit the next 15, and after that were the better team until the 75th minute, when Zenit put a lot of pressure on us.

Good start so far, should of been 2 nil at least though. Berbatov and Ferdinand had fairly easy chances. Knew Rooney would score tonight, he always goes on runs after having barren spells. Should of put some money down really.

They've just gone close themselves though.

Highlight so far was from Clive Tyldsley -

"It looks like Paul Scholes may go off......however he is on his feet now in front of us but still looking gingerly" Smiley

Own goal Demichelis (deflected a Juninho freekick). We were looking pretty good before that. Behind Demichelis two players were offside.
