Good to see the good old 'News' of The World continuing their pointless vendetta against liverpool today. Looks like suing the fuckers hasn't stopped them from printing nonsense.

Anyway I'm pretty excited at the minute. This game has enormous potential for us today. I'm hoping Riera confirms himself as the signing of the season today by skinning Boswinga. That battle is going to be key as Rafa will probably put kuyt back on the right meaning everything will have to go down the left

P.S Just to top off the win I wouldn't mind seeing alonso getting his own back and breaking flump's ankle. It is long overdue cyclops

    £8M Very Happy

Espanyol orginally wanted £15M or 16M too.

I told all the Reds here not to write him off based on his season at City Wink
I saw enough of him at City(and Espanyol) to convince me he had the talent, I questioned whether he had the consistenty however.

When Ballague said he would possibly be the best winger in Europe if he had real pace, I thought that it was complete bull but he has showed signs he could be one of the top proper wingers around.

It's very quiet on here, so in the absence of any complainers, I'll just point out

Another boring 1-0 based on defence
Scolari says Chelsea were unlucky not to draw so it must be so
Torres still can't score against the top teams away

    Wink

It's only October, and we've been top of the table before at this time of year. But I don't think I can recall us having been top of the table having beaten Man Utd, Chelsea and Everton at this time of year.

    Well done lads! cheers

    Oooh good Q.

    I'd say the Manc game.

Firstly the majority of their fans are gays Laughing

Secondly, the confidence that stemmed from the victory againist the Mancs filtered into this game I believe.

Thirdly, Torres didn't play and Gerrard for the most part didn't either.
Plus lets not forget who scored the winner for us... Cool Bubbly

Congrats Liverpool you broke Chelseas great record. never really thought it was going to be a big team that would do it. more likely a small team sneaking one in but you guys did it. props. ok
so how is the confidence, all these years of people joking that sure this will be Liverpools year will actually help liverpool now as long as people still think you guys are not a real threat.

Talk about getting carried away COTR. Liverpool have had a good start. Needed 2 or 3 or more lucky mad comebacks just to red cards half the time. Then sme close games like man utd and chelsea just gone your way. It wont last im afraid. But enjoy it while it does <Ale>

Confidence is as good as it can get but the problem is there aren't many teams who can take points off chelsea and united ALWAYS have the refs if all else fails so it'll take another 7-8 months of skill, luck and no injuries to stay up there

    Cheers.

Hopefully the supporters won't get ahead of themselves and like Rafa says constantly.. lets take one game at a time.

People didn't consider us a real threat in 04/05 or in 06/07 in regards to the Champions League so maybe there will be some similar positive influence coming from that.

Interesting to note the betting odds tonight for the league title.
Liverpool were third still with odds of 7/2 and Aresnal were 7/1.

Well, I'm not sure any other team could have beaten an in-form Chelsea side . Considering Chelsea's record at bridge, and the way they usually play there, Liverpool did look impressive to claim a victory. I hate Rafa Benitez, and the deluded fans, but we have to give ok today.

We controlled the passing when and made very few sloppy passes. Played some nice 1 touch football at times and on a few occasions we put some moves Barca or Aresnal would have the media creaming over(though we didn't finish the move off but it was still suberb football). Played some good "passing" moves for sure. I agree there. The problem with people creaming for Farca is they do it even when Ego'o controls with his bum, and scores after some 100 deflections, or Messi plays 1-2 accidentally with opposing defender, and suddenly it's the bestest move ever seen, etc. Not to mention they get credited for poor markings, and unmarked tap-ins.
