    Evra was 5 m , where did you get 7 m from.
Nani had a release clause of 17 m and Park 3.5-4 m why you think we over paid Nani's release clause.

    Ronaldo was 7.7 rising to 12 m.
We havent bought Tevez so why the fees.
Rooney was 27 max I think and Berbatov 30.4 and why you think we paid 4 m for Manucho from a club you never even heard of.

At least try to be fair.

I have tried to be fair, and I said they were guestimates. You'll notice in the inrterest of fairness I rounded up most of Liverpool's fees I thought Nani was £17m and Park was £5m. I still do. Evra and Ronaldo I'll amend. Manucho deal was €7m-£7m I'm lead to believe. Media reported Rooney deal to be £31m.

So I'll knock off £2m for Ronaldo and £1.5m for Evra,

    so

Manucho is less then a million , add 1.2 m for Rafael.
Do you expect us to pay 7 m Euro or pound for Manucho to an Angolan club.

Tevez fees doesnt count because he is on loan or his loan fees count which I dont really remember.

Tevez loan fee is deductable from his final tranfer fee of £30m. The same was for Mascherano, whose loan fee was nowhere near that of Tevez.

what's your point and how is it relevant? I'm talking about how much the squad cost to assemble, both managers have failed in the transfer market, same with Chelsea I don't include their failures, just the cost of putting the squads together. Fergle already had a title winning squad when Rafa arrived at Liverpool. If you have a mansion and spend £100,000 improving it and I have a normal house and spend £100,000 improving it of course yours is going to be better.

Arsenal is a tricky one as I have no idea how much their players cost, but I'm guessing the majority were less that £7m

guestimates, feel free to correct me, if with less agression than DS that would be fine.

    Alumunia, Fabianski £3m
    Sagna, Eboue £8m
    Clichy, Silvestre £1m

Seems fair. Add £4m per player à la Saints and you should be OK.

You fuckers all spend ridiculous amounts. But United fans getting on their high horse after spending £30m each on Veron, Ferdinand, Rooney, possibly Tevez, Berbatov, without mentioning the fees for the likes of van Nistelrooy, Carrick, Hargreaves, Nani, Anderson...

Arsenal's squad doesn't look as strong as the others, but if Wenger spent £90m on a Ferdinand, an Essien and a Torres it would be, and it'd still have cost less than the others.

you missed Barry and put Sidwell twice, so you could probably cut 5m (Barry being free, or close to)..but otherwise I shan't argue too much.

The other problem with just comparing money spent is the temporal one...10m now buys less than 10m five years ago (esp English players).

    Hull City today...

Despite their unexpected good season, this is a game we should win, but we said that about West Ham, Fulham and Stoke.

I think the confidence will be high though at the moment, 6 games in our last two games (boring), despite key players not being involved. Hull did score 3 at Old Trafford though so they can cause problems.

    I'd go for:

    -----------------------------------Reina-----------------------------------

    -----Arbeloa------------Carra---------Agger-----------Dossena-------

    -------------------------Masch---------Alonso---------------------------

    -----Kuyt-------------------------Gerrard--------------Riera-----------

The main reason we struggle against park the bus teams is because kuyt, keane and riera have no pace and only riera has the skill to actually beat a man so I will be disappointed if rafa lines up like this

Mascha does not deserve to be in the team on current form and certainly in a match like this, although saying that I don't think Hull will park the bus as purely as Fulham, West Ham, Stoke and Man U have done at Anfield this season

Babel deserves another go but I fear rafa will be impressed by Yossi finally taking one of his million chances against Blackburn

I can't really be arsed watching Keane running around moaning at everyone else because he is shit all afternoon but am just preparing myself for the dynamic Kuyt and Keane partnership.

I see Nemeth is finally back and scoring for the reserves. Let's just hope he gets a chance soon and more importantly takes it. If Ngog is getting plenty of time then anyone has hope

    I'd go with you Luis.

Babel has done nothing to warrent a starting berth.. besides he is our only real impact player we can bring from the bench.

Masch has to play, sure hes out of sorts... even more reason to keep him playing so he can play his way into some kind of form, what would putting him on the bench actually do for his confidence?

Alonso, Gerrard and Kuyt should have plenty of running in them after their midweek rest.
