Its generally a bit thin. Where are Hull in the winners section for going joint top for a day?
And C. ronaldo is more of a loser than Rooney! In fact, Utd in general are - he looks completely uninterested...

Re: Weekend Winners and Losers
The key to Liverpool's victory was their organisation, discipline and the absolute belief that they could repel whatever Chelsea would throw at them. Tactically, they were yard-perfect, from Steven Gerrard's liberation behind Robbie Keane, to the use of Albert Riera and Dirk Kuyt to nullifying Chelsea's hitherto rampaging full-backs. Now we know why the Dutchman was omitted in midweek despite three goals in his previous two matches - Benitez was saving him for the task of making Ashley Cole the brattish, prattish, self-absorbed, spoilt, obnoxious garden-gnome lookalike he actually is.

Wayne Rooney
Footballers kissing the badge is generally about as cynical as politicians kissing babies. Like a chairman's vote of confidence, it is generally tends to be the harbinger of a split rather than a declaration of everlasting loyalty. Rooney's reaction to the heckles of the Goodison Park crowd after his booking was revealing in how little value he placed upon the ritual. The badge wasn't kissed because he wanted to declare his love for his current club, it was kissed only because he wanted antagonise the crowd still suffering for his rejection. Has Rooney really become so removed from the processes of being a football fan that he felt it necessary to hurt them further? It was a cheap act, one that demeaned the shirt and revealed an aspect to his personality that can only be described as repugnant.
This piece is genius...the guy who wrote this should be knighted or something

Joey Barton did pretty much the same thing for Newcastle against Sunderland on Saturday. He was being provoked - the Sunderland fans started throwing coins and things at him whilst he was warming up - but he responded by turning to the same fans and kissing the Newcastle badge. I don't really care in the slightest if a player, upon being provoked, attempts to get his own back by responding and winding up the fans in some way - perhaps Barton should just keep his head down for the time being; perhaps that would be more indicative of a changed personality; but nevertheless, I don't generally have a problem with players responding to taunts. But for Joey Barton to kiss the badge is really the cheapest of gestures, and an unpleasant one, because he has no relationship with the club whatsoever; has only disgraced and abused the club in his time with us; and so in kissing the badge, he really just abused the club again in a bid to irritate others.
Rooney's badge kissing was unpleasant too, and probably even more stupid and, like the article says, small minded.

Re: Weekend Winners and Losers
Obviously enjoyed the piece on Liverpool very much.
I'd worry if I were a Chelsea supporter in the short term.
If other teams can nullify Chelsea's full backs espically Bosinwga. Obviously most teams in the EPL don't have the calibur of players we do or the manager but if they can follow Benitez's general outline in formation and style plus get a bit of luck, getting a result againist them is very possible.
Until the January window opens the need a creative attacker is needed badly as well as someone who can actually provide some guile, pace effectively and can actually provide a goal threat. The Anelka of Bolton is long gone, Di Santo actually put himself about when he came on and tried his hardest. Anelka as well as Malouda, well simply are unable to do that. Joe Cole as well as Drogba are badly missed thats a given.

Nothing like a major crisis or anything as besides the Utd, Liverpool and Aresnal, can the rest provide a real problem againist Chelsea. Don't think so. I'm sure they'll be grand until Jan where despite Kenyon's comments last week about not signing anyone, I still expect some activity from them. Only thing that will be of concern for them during Jan is who is available.
Oh... Sunderland should be in the winners section

True dat.
It wasnt a red I agree..but I think the ref can probably make enough of a case to make sure he comes out the victor.

Where is Robinho? I bet Abramovich regrets not signing him now. It's too early to tell if he will succeed in the EPL, but he has been doing well. So far he scored as much as Rooney, Berbatov and Ronaldo combined.

Cole's was a yellow. The thing that annoyed me was the way Dowd showed the card. What a C0ck, he didn't even look at Cole, he just strutted past him with the card in the air. Respect my arse!

Dowd always acts like that when he gives out a card or makes a big decision, waves people away with contempt. Steve Bennett is the same.

I have it on good authority (EMP) that Robinho absolutely turns to shite when he has to play in the cold...

Most of them are like that..wont listen to a word the players say..if any of them dare approach them they'll probably get a booking or worse.
It was shocking the way Dowd did it, he pretty much looked at Cole with a screwed up face of contempt for this big smelly footballer who had dared to be on the pitch at the same time as him. Then sort of dismissed him with a wave of the arm before he the red card out. Like he was the Queen waving a way a peasent.

Delighted for Robinho and Chelsea must be gutted not to have him cutting in from the left flank.
The best in epl are possibly ronaldo, torres and Gerrard (physically awesome but technically no more than sound) but if you want to be entertained then the big 3 are RVP, Tuncay and Robinho

Well I was at the Spurs game on Saturday and can safely assure you that Modric had me and the rest of the crowd entertained (for all the right reasons).
And there isn't a more assured, cool, controlled and generally awesome centre back anywhere in the EPL than Ledley King.
Were it not for his persistent knee injury, its scary what he could have become. I've never seen a better defender in my life. Not one long ball all game, every pass inch perfect, every tackle timed to perfection.
Brilliant

Yeah, Modric showed a glimpse of what he can do, the flick over Muamba's head, and subsequent pass to send Bent away was class, and then the way he teed himself up for the volley that led to the penalty bodes well.
Also delighted for Pav - no player in the EPL needed a goal more than he did, and hopefully they can both kick on from here.

Keane still needs one
Glad for Pav(and for Modric) as well. I thought he was someone we should have signed during the summer.
My brother a Spurs fan was hysterical with relief and joy yesterday watching the match, could only imagine what ye were like.
