Yes, van Persie has been sent off for Arsenal - Sorensen was dallying over a back pass, playing for time, refraining from picking the ball up, and van Persie ran towards him and essentially shoulder-barged him over. Maybe the red card was a little bit harsh, because it was a shoulder-barge rather than an elbow, but van Persie was petulant and players always tend to get red cards when they act in such situations. Arsenal are really falling apart, and obviously we have gone over their situation this past week - I agree with the sentiment that Wenger didn't do enough to hold on to Flamini; that aside, I think Arsenal's problem is with their defence, and I think Wenger needed to be brave and clear sighted over the summer by getting rid of Gallas, replacing him with a top class, dominant sort of centre back, and I think he needed a new keeper too. In attack, Arsenal should have more options now than ever, but they are weak in the centre in defence and that's ruining their team.

Stoke's second was a funny one - the scorer fell onto the long throw - he chested the ball at the start of his fall, the ball then bounced up off the ground and hit his chin as he continued to fall, and it bobbled in.
