Doesn't really mention anything at all about wanting to join Spurs. Don't think he is the sort of player they need/could afford now either, he and Modric would get in each other's way.

I think Zenit have played a great hand here... the hype has stemmed from the player, his agent and other clubs. So they've taken the attitude.
'Everyone is telling us hes a great player, so we'll hold out for a top price'
Arshavin IMO has fucked himself in the arse, and only deserves whatever he gets for helping to generate his inflated market price.... stupid fucking footballers

Pathetic, he claims he is way to good for non CL clubs, now he is desperately begging to go to the bottom club in the premiership. Dickhead.

As Advocaat said at the Supercup, the bid by Tottenham was lower than what was reported. Zenit believe that Arshavin is worth more than that and won't sell for less and rightly so. Arshavin is a great player, but he is a dickhead. He went about it all wrong, so he gets teased by his team-mates - tragic isn't it. If he tries to strike he should be banned from football for a year longer than his current contract with Zenit. He signed that contract without a gun being held to his head. It should be honoured unless Zenit get what they think he is worth. He is a complete c**t and deserves far worse than he is currently getting.

Naturally not paying him for striking will not make a lot of impact, as i'm fairly confident he is wealthy enough, the punishment i'd like to see imposed in this circumstance is the player paying his weekly wage as a fine, so if he strikes for 4 weeks... he not only loses his earning however pays the forfeit.... after all should it come to the courts, and it is unjust... he can be reimburst the costs.
I'm a big fan of equal punishment... for example should a player intentionally (obviously) or wrecklessly injure a player, a ban of equal length to the injury (in terms of ability to play) would deter far more than a 3 match ban or fine.
