Insua starts at leftback, strange as I thought he was one of Liverpool's better players from Monday night.

No idea about Agger either, you can only assume he isn't 100% fit.

assume Hyppia is selected becasue he's a threat from corners

He had enough chances from them on monday, he needs to put them away if he gets them again today.

Rafa's took a gamble today, a big gamble.

We are going to lose agger to madrid or milan if this keeps up

It's a bit of a hideous selection from benitez which will hopefully be saved by alonso, gerrard and babel

Geremi is in the centre of our midfield today, partnering Guthrie with Butt out injured - that position apart, we have our strongest team out, and we really must beat Stoke (who have a few of our ex-players playing - the two Fayes and Griffin). We've started pretty well - N'Zogbia had a shot that went just over the bar, and we're moving the ball about pretty quickly.

And as I was typing the above, we scored! A nice finish from Owen, who has been hobbling a bit after an early challenge, from a great through ball by Gutierrez - he played Owen in past a number of defenders with the outside of his boot. We also survived a Stoke throw-in just after our goal.

I wonder if we've pushed the hoardings a little more towards the pitch, to prevent Delap having a long run up. Certainly, he doesn't have much of a run up as things are - perhaps our hoardings are always close to the pitch, but if I had to say, I'd say we've moved them slightly. Hoardings, eh! - you see them every week, but when asked, you just don't know how to place them.
