Owen scores a second! Martins cut down the left into the Stoke area and played a great ball across goal, and Owen moved excellently to slide it in at the far post.

Laughing You don't half talk some $h!t, can't wait until Ronaldo leaves you in Jan/next summer, you will actually be fighting for 4th place when that happens as without him you are average as f@ck.

Nice call on Adebayor lrd...right again after predicting Bent's dry patch. So far it looks like my instinct was right in considering bringing Adebayor in this week. I hope Defoe gets a goal tomorrow, because now I'm in trouble for next week - Adebayor's price will skyrocket as people drop Ronaldo for him, and I also have to get rid of Agger Erm

Geovanni just executed a worst header ever, being just in front of a keeper, with Boro's defense being nowhere to be seen.

Hull is starting to threaten Boro more and more, it's really an interesting tactical idea and not really aften used in Premier League, to have a attacking midfielder playing just behind two strikers. It works so well for Hull and Geovanni, when most of the managers/team would probably put him on the wing, where he wouldn't have as much impact as here.

Just got back. We were the better team overall after a slow start but given Man City had a few chances of their own a draw is a fair result. Was annoyed by the ref though. He couldn't seem to decide if he was allowing some hard tackles or wanted a non-contact game.

Lots of slick passing in the pointless areas of the pitch but as soon as it hits the forward players it ends up either going back to the midfielders or is crossed in to nobody. Blackburn are fighting for their lives though so it makes it a bit more difficult

We need to swap babel and kuyt to get a bit of strength and pace up front. Kuyt is even worse as a lone striker than keane. Failing that, blackburn scoring first is probably our best chance of winning today

God I miss torres this season

We are 2-0 up at half time, and we've had an excellent first half. We started the game brightly, playing at a reasonably high tempo, and though Stoke put us under some pressure after our first goal, we've dominated the game so far. There was some really nice football, some really lovely moments in the half - Gutierrez's assist; a nice reverse pass by Coloccini; a lovely curled ball down the left from Enrique to N'Zogbia (Enrique is a bit of a frustrating player - he can be very solid at the back, but his passing is very hit and miss - he can play an exceptional ball, but he often seems to kick it to nowhere. I think he's very capable technically, but maybe not the most thoughtful at times); Martins' assist and a step over he did late in the half.

Our attack looks much more fluid today. Owen and Martins are moving and linking well - Martins roaming across the front line, Owen occasionally dropping deep. Gutierrez and Beye are linking and overlapping down the right. N'Zogbia has been lively. And we've been good at the back too. Bassong has had another really solid game in the centre of defence, and his passing from the back is good - he doesn't always push it wide or loft it long; he seeks and finds his men well.

Hopefully we keep it all up in the second half - that would really make a change.

    Ugh frustrating yet again.

Gerrard dropping so deep means that when the ball does arrive to Kuyt he has no support and just loses possesion.

The two wingers Babel and Benayoun have been moaning over the last few weeks about lack of chances but today they have their opportunity to put that right and neither of them have done anything so far.

In defence we look pretty solid as Hyypia still as the ability to read the game brilliantly and Insua as fitted in well and whilst not doing anything outstanding as been pretty solid and had a tricky moment with Santa Cruz but he held him off and came away with the ball.

Wish Luis Garcia was still here.....

Coloccini was beaten far too easily there - he's too slow and too weak when players go at him. We haven't been as good this half - the central defenders have been caught out a couple of times, with Taylor making an excellent saving challenge on Cresswell on one occasion, and we're not maintaining possession at all - too many long balls, trying to counter too quickly.
