Agent Toure criticizes postponing renewal talks

Asked about the renewal of the contract of Barcelona defensive midfielder and Ivory Coast international Yaya Touré (25) (read more here), the players's agent Dimitry Seluk was in an interview with Catalan radio station RAC 1 very critical about the attitude of Barcelona:

"They're waiting to renew the contract of Eto'o, they're waiting to renew the contract of Touré. They just continue to wait. But if the team will win the Liga or the Champiosn League, then they will start thinking: what is happening here? And the players will have left already. And who will play then? Hleb?
    Very Happy
How longer they wait, how more expensive it will be. Eto'o just has to wait and see who offers him the best contract. He chose the right path. Touré is a more relaxed person and he prefers to wait and see. Those are two different ways of acting. Eto'o gave an interview and Touré didn't. But none of them has already obtained a contract correction."

This was also confusing me. They just signed Toure prior to the 07/08 season. I'm sure he's got at least 2-3 years on his current deal.

Eto'o has what remains of this season and next season left on his contract, I think. But also I thought it was Eto'o who didn't want to renew his contract at the moment?

Eighteen months later and he wants a renewal, next he will be suggesting that Man City want him to bump up the price. It's beyond doubt he has been Arsenal for the last five years to get the contract he wants for his client.

Hleb's a very talented player, he was unlucky with that injury earlier in the season. Granted if you had to pick the best Barcelona XI he wouldn't be in it, but he would make it at a number of other top clubs.

Yaya wants a renewal because he is still on the same wages he was on at Monaco.

Eto'o is trying to spite the club because of what the management did to him last season, he is even saying the only club he loves is mallorca and he is just a employee of the club and expects to be treated as such.

Also saying a whole lot of bull about wanting to play in france and for mallorca before he retires, but he saying he won't play for much longer, so you know what that means.

To be fair Hleb has been shit. I can't believe Shaz said he was superior to Iniesta.

I don't think Hleb is a shit player but he certainly isn't performing for Barca and has generally looked their worse player on the pitch when he has played.

On those buy's, Silva wouldn't be a good buy. He is a 'good' even 'very good player' but he's a bit overrated IMO. Still has a lot to learn and he isn't an exceptional talent.

Asenjo is highly regarded but I agree with Jaime that he isn't really needed. He needs to be playing not warming the bench. He can continue to improve staying at Valladolid. For the top sides in La Liga he'd walk into the Atleti side.

Zhirkov would be a good buy imo though I'm basing that on his appearances at the Euros, which isn't smart. Not sure what his league form is like.

VV is becoming a bit of a pri-Madonna , and whats to the same about of money as Iker , so signing someone like Asenjo will cool him a bit, because he will have to be constantly looking over his shoulder and he nows he won't be able to get a transfer to a club in barca's league.

But i agree with that he should be warming the bench, but he won't be at Valladolid, after this season, he is too good and his buy out clause he too low.

Everyone that has been watching barca knows Helb as been shit even caceres and sanchez have done better than him, but i have never said he is a shit player, just a shit player for us, so far at least.

I think its quite ironic with Hleb really. When he got to Arsenal, he was accused of holding onto the ball for far too long and it took him ages to rectify this problem. Now he's been accused of passsing too much, and needs to revert back to his old style of play. Feel sorry the guy, must be very confused.

Cameroon kid Gael Etock exciting Barcelona management

Barcelona management are excited about Cameroon teenager Gael Etock.

Just 15, Etock is already playing in the club's U18 team and impressing Barca coaching staff.

Cameroon star Samuel Eto'o was influential in luring Etock to Barca.

Barca sign new 12M euros deal

    http://www.fcbarcelona.com/web/english/noticies/club/temporada08-09/02/n090218107134.html

    http://www.goal.com/en/news/12/spain/2009/02/19/1116406/barcelona-contract-renewal-now-up-to-etoo-laporta

The deal is for 4 years and will increase every year.

Could get close to your 400M euros by 2010 in revenues, target set by soriano.

This, the new television deal and what ever else they can think up, should get us close.

The man is a financial genius look at where we, were when he took over the finances, imagine what he would have done, if we were in a better financial position when he took over.

    ----------------------

The 2010 elections will be very tight.

Soraino well be arguing the economic impact he has had at the club.

Rosell we say he was the one that signed Dinho and Deco and can bring the best players to barca.

    I'm leading in soriano's direction.

Our defending from setpieces has been shocking lately...it'll hurt us badly in the CL knockout stages, even against Lyon who have some tall and strong players. We really need Puyol fit because without him there's no leader at the back, with Marquez still too patchy and Pique prone to the occasional mistake.

We haven't been able to play our 1st choice defensive partnership, as much as we would have liked to since the new year, with marquez being out injured and now puyol.

Both of whom were rush back before they were 100% fit, as had relapses.

once they are back to full fitness we will stop conceding so much goals

we will stop so many goals.
