Yeah, it's bizarre why his agent brings it up *every* summer Laughing

A deal was indeed very very close in 2004, but after that I don't think we've ever been seriously interested in him.

Though one of the rumours I read about was an Italian paper saying it'll be a 50m bid for Buffon + Trezeguet with Iniesta or Etoo going the other way Rolling Eyes Doh

Yeh Trezeguet was about to leave in 2004 and then when Capello was appointed manager of Juve, he requested him to stay.

According to channel4, his agent says there is an £8million bid on the table.

Don't think Trez is suited to Barca anyway. He would probably score alot of goals with all that creativity behind him, but i think Barca would rather have a striker with more flair and dribbling ability.

Definitely... And in any case I wouldn't pay 10m for Buffon.. he is good, very good, but there is no guarantee that he would fit our system, especially since we play very differently from most Italian sides.

I would much rather try to sign Ansejo or Diego Lopez..

For me there are very few players that I would like to see join if our starting XI remain..

A cover for Messi and Henry/Iniesta.. the best I can think of would be Ribery but Silva would also be a treat. A left back if Sylvinho leaves. Could be good with an attacking one as this would allow us to play Puyol as right back with losing all attacking support from the fullbacks.

A Xavi like player would be a luxury, but it is the one area of the team I worry about as he is playing too many games. Cesc anyone? Wink

i'd take trez for 8m, if he would be happy setting on the bench, i would be nice to have someone that can really put away chances.

I agree with the positions that needs strengtening, put i would take hernanes over cesc

He would be cheaper, can play anywhere in midfield, would be willing to set on the bench and isnt a c**t.

Plus he has the potenial to be a WC player, according to Vickery

Thiago is still a kid.. I want somebody who can organise play in tough matches. I am not sure about the Hernanes. I guess he is good but I need to see more of him.

As for Trez then I agree it would be nice with a direct, clinical striker, but I don't want to sacrifice Bojan.

IMO we need a playmaker that can take about a third of the games as a starter so that Xavi can get some rest.

i'm kidding about thiago, he needs 2/3 more years to be ready.

But hernanes is the best option available, its either that are buy a left winger which will free up iniesta to play in the midfield only and we can then play him/xavi when one needs a rest.

Apart from Hernanes there must be other options out there, apart from letting Iniesta take the role when Xavi is rested.

I am no fan of Cesc's attitude, but if Real is coming for him then we should be there too... No way do I want him in a white jersey..

The only way, cesc will wear a barca shirt, in the near future is if rosell becomes president.

if real make a move for him this summer, i don't think laporta will join a bidding war, because it will split the socios and i dont think he wants too many problems in his last year.

Then again, he could say i dont have anything to lose, being that its his last year and just break the bank for him.

I saw Rossell heading into an ad agency the other day.. Maybe he is prepping some material.

I hate Cesc for leaving but his talent is huge and I will not have him helping the bloody madridistas..

Cesc is a motherfucking c**t, when asked weather he would ever play for madrid, he replied i'm a professional and close the door to no one.

The media asked rijkaard if he would ever coach madrid, he replied, never.

Cesc is a motherfucking c**t, who doesnt deserve to wear the shirt.

I'm sure if you asked pique that question when he was at madrid he would say no.

Man even GDS would say no.

Well if Arsenal continue to not win trophies, he'll eventually have to move to Spain or Italy. Now in Spain the odds of Madrid vs. Barça signing him are probably 80-20...so he really can't shut the door on them if he ever wants to make it out of Arsenal. No Italian teams have shown any serious interest in him.

Well I remember an interview where Cesc said something to the likes that the reason he wouldn't mind joining Real Madrid is that he was never one of those that got into the whole rivalry which I always thought was surprising because he is catalonian and played for Barca in his youth but I gues some people aren't so into that. It might be that Cesc never felt attachment to Barcelona since he never got around to actually playing for you.

In all fairness I don't think an Italian team could afford him.

He will leave us eventually regardless if we win trophies or not, pretty much all Arsenal fans realise this and have accepted that fact.

Laporta has annoyed me with his comments. Grr

I think he just fears closing doors to be honest.. You can't possibly grow up as a cule and not feel the rivalry. But if Marca or AS asks you, you probably shut up. Just like Xavi or Puyol will always say that they support other Spanish teams in the CL.

The only player thats a bigger conte that cesc is fran, in an interview with airfootball.com, he basically said i dont give a shit about barca.

He doesn't give a shit about the club, that put him on his way to become a professional football.

Not even a bit of gratitude

The only youth player that has a reason to be bitter after leaving the club is Lago, because Luis really didnt handle his situation well.

That's very unlikely, how many players have actually done that since article 17 became active?

I would badly like to see Cesc in Barcelona’s shirt, but the opinion of the technical staff is the one that counts regarding decisions. We are aware that he is very talented player and he perfectly knows Barcelona’s style.

But as Hem fet un.. says for you guys it's part of Laporta's job to come out with stuff like that.

    ok
I don't really care when other players talk about Real either or any of the players. Maldini was well within his right to say that he wanted Ramos to come in for him. People should be allowed to say who they want without geting hanged. Ultimately it is about the players atittude.

    That's right SuperMadrid.

I am changing my attitude also. I used to get really pissed when Calderon would talk about Kaka', but in the end, it's not these statements that unsettle a player. Honestly, if a player is committed he will stay, if not he will go eventually. I want Kaka' to stay, just like Man U fans want C. Ronaldo to stay, but I wouldn't really be devastated if Kaka' left.

didnt get to see this one, but i'm happy that the team pulled out a win.

Expected a good defensive display for the guys, based on the fact that, almost all of out starting back line didnt travel and they didnt not disappoint me.

    Now for the CL.
