After that who is the plum draw? Would you want to face an English side now and get knocked out or would you prefer to get to the final and then lose to an English side?

I'd rather avoid the English sides unless it's the final. Comes with too much baggage.

So any of the foreign sides bar Barca - Bayern, Villarreal or Porto. Probably Porto if forced to pick one.

after watching Liverpool last night and United tonight I'm starting to hope that:

1) we beat them on Saturday

2) we get them in the draw next week

Over 2 legs I think United will beat Arsenal

Despite losing 10-0 to United twice already this season, I can see Hiddink's Chelsea with nu-Drogba winning over 2 legs against United.

I don't see any other team beating United, if they avoid Liverpool and Chelsea they will win the competition.

watching us last night and you tonight, having seen both teams regularly this season and all bravado aside I would make us favourites over 2 legs.

That said I would fear you in the final.

I have a feeling we'll get Bayern - they played Sporting, the team who finished 2nd in our group, and we played Lyon, the team who finished 2nd in their group

It'll probably be the highest scoring tie of CL history, 27-25 or something, as Marquez and Dimichelis try to outdo each other with defensive blunders.

But realistically, this is the order of most preferred to least preferred for me:

Villarreal (don't care about the same country bollocks, give me the weakest team every time)

Porto

Arsenal

Bayern

Man. Utd.

Chelsea

Liverpool


Also, regardless of who we get, the most important thing, and something I desperately hope we get even if we play all 3 English sides one after another, is to be able to play the 2nd legs at home. We had that throughout in the 2005-2006 season, and I don't think we would have won the CL if we had to play the 1st leg at home.

And the draw that I'd like to see:

Porto-Bayern
English team-English team
English team-English team

Any of the non EPL sides. Would love Barca or Bayern the most.

As long as he doesn't bring Ribery, Podolski, Schweinsteiger or Lucio with him...Demichelis is welcome though

I rate their attack, but Bayern's defence is too poor to win the CL. Certainly if Van Buyten plays. He's 1 of the best defenders at scoring from attacking set pieces, but he can't defend, so he sucks.
