Ok, since Madrid are more likely to sign him anyway. But will you still buy Hleb? But for more than the rumoured 8m euros
NO! Clearly they want to buy Sneijder!

Re: Big name transfers this summer
Apparently Atletico are dreaming of Benitez for their managerial position
Won't happen of course, but they are also looking at Valverde which is more likely, and a new manager will probably be able to convince Aguero to stay.
Silva has apparently given an interview to an Italian paper today, and didn't rule out playing for Juve, saying "it's a great club" etc. etc.

Yeah, expect Adebayor to Milan rumours regardless of where you finish in the league.
And at least one of the Madrid presidential candidates is sure to try and lure Cesc with big wages and a big transfer fee for Arsenal.
If you win the CL though, then everyone will stay.

Re: Big name transfers this summer
I think these chaps will be on the move in the summer.
You would think Villa wil be in for Johnson and Owen, Martin O'Neill loves stirring the big club's porridge. Downing should go to Spurs.
Also if Aston Villa don't finish in the top 4 I expect Barry will be off, probably to Liverpool.
If Arsenal don't finish in the top 4 their entire team will be off, except perhaps Almunia and the U21's.

Seems unlikely, Valencia need the money. Obviously there not going to sell cheap to either of our clubs.

Werent Liverpool interested in Johnson.
Downing will finally move to Spurs in the summer IMO.
Michael Owen is an interesting one, wont Liverpool fans take him back, he doesnt cost anything in transfer money.

The spanish players at valencia have a strange soft of loyalty to the club, so if they can get things somewhat sorted by july, valencia would be his 1st option.

I think Villa and Silva will only leave if the club absolutely has to sell them. That's my personal opinion anyway.

Bayern are stubborn contes, if they agree to sell Ribery it will be a very expensive transfer.

Ronaldo didn't go out all to say he wanted away. He gave alot of hints but that isn't enough and anyway that transfer deal is surely not over yet if Perez wish to pursuit it. Also you can see that Hargreaves ended up in Man Utd the following year so player was in force.L-r d wrote:Super Madrid wrote:If Ribery wants to leave then there isn't much they can do really.Effenberg wrote:Bayern won't let Ribery leave. Ronaldo wanted to go he made it clear, Man utd said no hence all the slave comments. So it is a clear case of the club habing control. It will never be over as long as he's alive.

Re: Big name transfers this summer
Benzema announced today that he is staying for another season, which is a great news for the club. As for Ribery I would expect him to stay because he said several times he liked the club, etc etc.... but he said the exact stuff when he was playing for Marseille and probably did the same thing when he was in Turkey.
I can see Diego leave Bremen after this disappointing year for them (if they don't clinch a champions league spot). Bastos the brazilian from Lille will certainly be very demanded. He's a offensive midfield player that can score over 10 goals a season. He's on 9 now.

Wouldn't take those announcements too serious because players say it all the time. If I remember correct there was talks last summer that he had a deal with Lyons president that he could leave if he wanted to next summer. Allow he also said he wouldn't mind staying another season.Alive and Kicking wrote:Benzema announced today that he is staying for another season, which is a great news for the club. I totally forgot about Diego who I wouldn't mind getting either. One of him or Ribery would be just fine.

Seems unlikely, Valencia need the money. Obviously there not going to sell cheap to either of our clubs.
We also need our best players to remain competetive. No point having a great stadium if nobody wants to see them play

http://www.as.com/futbol/articulo/futbol-gomez-prepara-plan-sacrificio/dasftbpri/20090312dasdaiftb_48/Tes
But obviously they also can't go on indefinitely not paying players, etc. Something is going to have to give eventually. Hopefully they can secure the funds because a healthy, financially sound, competitive Valencia is important for la Liga. But it sounds like they are prepared to do what it takes to secure the long term future of the club.

Ronaldo should go and play for Valencia, then he really can complain about being a slave.
6 years is a much more realistic goal, they could effectively raise the necessary money by qualifying for the CL every season.

Re: Big name transfers this summer
I would absolutely love for Real Madrid to go for Villa and Silva. For the sake of La Liga I would like to see both of them stay in Spain and it would break my heart to see either of them go to City. I think Benzema and Ribery are both plausible signings for RM but I prefer the Spanish. For all the hype that surrounds Benzema, in all of the big matches I've seen him in, he hasn't looked like the special player that he's hyped to be. Villa on the other hand is absolutely brilliant and I think he would be a legend for us. I would rather we not go for Kaka or Ronaldo because we need to spend that money on many holes and their transfer fees would prevent us from making other necessary changes.

So now Benzema claims he's staying...they're all trying to ruin my thread
@Glenn: They could raise the money via CL qualification, but it's not something they can rely on. This isn't the Premier League
75m is not much...what they can do is sell a few players - Silva, Joaquin, Banega, Maduro, Zigic to get roughly that amount, and invest in cheaper ones and get some loans to maintain the competitiveness of the squad.
